Our wall panelling is made from MDF. This is a medium-density fibreboard and is an engineered wood-based sheet made by bonding together wood fibres with a synthetic resin adhesive and pressure. How do you measure for wall Panelling?
Our flame retardant MDF is specifically designed to slow the spread of fire for up to 30 minutes, giving it the Euroclass C Fire Rating. Primed: We will supply your Square Architrave pre-primed and ready for you to apply a final top coat of paint to finish. And don’t forget to keep your windows open during this process to properly ventilate the room you are painting in. Top tip: If you are cutting the MDF to size yourself, you’ll need a circular saw . You must also wear safety equipment, like your safety goggles, ear defenders and a half mask respirator to protect yourself from the dust. To screw into MDF you will require specific screws to prevent splitting. We recommend using screws that are purposely made for MDF as generic screws may damage the sheeting. Does MDF warp? Unprimed (No Finish): Choose unprimed to receive the Square Architrave as it comes in raw MDF with no primer or paint applied. The architrave will need to be primed before painting to stop the MDF from ‘furring up’ and causing a poor, uneven finish. You'll now be able to see the squares are formed and ready for the panel moulding to sit along the inner edges and give it the decorative finish. 5. Fit The Dado Rail
Before we add the panel moulding to the squares, here's another nice and easy step - we told you this would be a breeze! Pre-primed mouldings relieves a lot of work as MDF, being an absorbent material, can require two or more priming coats to seal it properly. Once everything is secure, caulk around each square. This will help give it a better-quality finish. If any parts of the wall aren’t straight, use the filler to close any gaps between the wall and your boards.
The double door set has 3 x 2400mm lengths, one for each vertical and one for the extended horizontal. Fire retardant MDF sheets are suitable for internal dry situations, for non-structural applications, and ideal for use in wall linings, partitions, display panels, or in commercial buildings to slow the spread of fire. Our standard grade MDF panels takes well to being machined and cut, meaning that we are able to customize your sheet to fit any spaces that you wish. As such, we are able to provide our MDF cut to size, ready for any project. Our MDF boards are also ideal for painting and priming for your design. Flame RetardantAgain, like the skirting option, you can select 'No Dado Rail Required' if you already have some fitted on the wall that you're panelling. Our melamine MDF boards are made up of a clean white melamine veneer that is bonded to our standard MDF wood. The core of the sheet is our standard MDF with 0.5mm melamine applied to both faces. The result of this is a sleek, modern, and clean-looking melamine MDF cut-to-size sheet. Choose primed to receive the kit with a single coat of primer (will require sanding and undercoating before applying your final finish). The mitre should be at 45 degrees so that they all fit flush against each other inside the square panelling.
Wall panelling can easily be installed using adhesive, or screws. We would also recommend making sure you use a spirit level when installing to make sure that the pieces are flat.
