About this deal

But what Lou doesn't know is she's about to meet someone who's going to turn her whole life upside down. As the sole breadwinner in her family, and one with an ABUSIVE BOSS, Sam cannot show up for an important meeting in flip flops, and there is no time to turn around and return the gym, so she will have to LITERALLY wear another woman’s shoes to her meeting. Turns out, the sexy shoes end up giving her a boost of confidence that she needed. Her novel Silver Bay’ was a top selling novel in the year 2007. Jojo Moyes novel Me Before You’ has earned an invitation to be among the American film writer’s guild. In addition, the association approached Moyes on the possibility of making her book a film. Lou's journey is a combination of the first two books. It takes the reality from the second book with the emotions from the first book, then smashes them together in a final wrapper on discovering what makes Lou 'still me.'

I think about your sister a lot. I think about Will too. When people we love die young it’s a nudge, reminding us that we shouldn’t take any of it for granted, that we have a duty to make the most of what we have. I feel like I finally get that.” Look, I get that the women were struggling and the author wanted to generate the whole concept of empathy, through a pair of heels but empathy regardless. But it's not executed right imo. Don't get me wrong, it is a well written book but it didn't make me feel anything for the characters. It was just words on paper. For ten years she worked for a newspaper called The Independent, during which time she also did some writing as an (assistant) editor and a correspondent covering the areas of art and media. After earning a degree at both the Bedford New College and Royal Holloway (London University) Moyes won a scholarship from the newspaper (The Independent) and was able to do graduate journalism work, which she did at City University. London printing company saleswoman Sam Kemp was given a one-day gift pass to a high-end gym. Since the pass is about to expire, Sam decides to use it one morning before a series of sales calls.Louisa Clark goes to her next phase in her life, this time leaving her native England to go to work at New York. Me Before You film adaptation awards: People's Choice Awards Winner for Favourite Dramatic Movie (2017); [38] [39] ASCAP Award Winner for Top Box Office Films (2017); [38] Golden Trailer Award Winner for Best Romance (2017) [38]

So then we get into parenting, friendship, cancer and talk therapy, as well as a hysterical breaking and entering episode. But wait, there's more. It's a real romp. Read and laugh. Thank you thank you to Penguin Division of Random House for allowing me to read this early copy. He looked like Will, he talked like Will and he seemed to work in the same job as him. It’s like Jojo Moyes wanted us to give Lou a second chance at Will but then decided against it, because he turned out to be completely different than Will in the end. And that’s bullshit! Either you give our girl her second chance with a guy like Will (fate) or you don’t. Why even bring him into this book if she was bound to leave him again?! Also I don’t buy that he was totally different than Will. That might sound harsh now but I’m pretty sure Will was a lot like Josh before he had his accident. He even said as much when they spoke about his former life in “Me After You”. He was a bon viveur and he also kind of defined his life through his job! The only difference between Will and Josh was that Will had his accident and started to see the more important things of life. He began to value the small things and the overall picture instead of certain points. So in my opinion in dating Josh, Lou actually dated Will before she got to know him. It’s only my opinion though and you’re allowed to disagree with me. ;-) I just think that Will was perfect for Lou because he changed after his accident and therefore didn’t have a lot in common with the person he used to be before it.This was an enjoyable book and there is no denying that it kept me reading. I basically devoured this in a few days, yet I still feel so very conflicted about it all. When I went into this book I wanted closure and I didn’t get it because “Still Me” somehow managed to leave me with even more questions than I had before. I wish I could say that to finish this series made me happy but I feel like Jojo Moyes let me down. Maybe it were my high expectations, who knows? All I know is that this gets 3 stars from me because there were just too many issues I couldn’t overlook. This said maybe the book just wasn’t for me?! I guess we’ll never know. XD

Moyes won a bursary financed by The Independent newspaper which allowed her to attend the postgraduate newspaper journalism course at City University in 1992. [13] She subsequently worked for The Independent for the next 10 years (except for one year, when she worked in Hong Kong for the Sunday Morning Post) in various roles, becoming Assistant News Editor in 1998. [13] In 2002 she became the newspaper's Arts and Media Correspondent. [14] Writing career [ edit ] Herald, TERRI SCHLICHENMEYER For the Telegraph (19 February 2023). "Schlichenmeyer: 'Someone Else's Shoes' a breezy, relatable read". TelegraphHerald.com . Retrieved 26 June 2023. Jojo described her writing style as an organic one with different parts of the books coming together to form an entire story. According to the author, The One Plus One’ was done with less writing style when compared to her previous books. She uses conversations and people she encountered as a beginning to develop characters. From the New York Times bestselling author of The Giver of Stars, discover the love story that captured over 20 million hearts in Me Before You, After You, and Still Me.

Accolades and a Movie

I don't think there needed to be a trilogy. I really don't. Let me start by saying I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Me Before you. It literally blew me away. I read it twice and have seen the movie three times. I think it is Moyes Swan song. It doesn't get any better than that - which is why the two books which followed could not live up to their predecessor.
