About this deal

There are many ways to celebrate Global James Bond Day. You can binge your favorite films in the franchise, read a James Bond novel, make a playlist of James Bond theme songs, or even host a James Bond-themed party for your family and friends. And don’t forget to post about the holiday on social media with the hashtag #GlobalJamesBondDay to spread the word!Remind me with Google Calendar Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the latest star to see his name at the head of the betting after a flurry of interest from punters over the last two days,’ notes Alex Apati of UK bookmakers Ladbrokes. 2. Henry Cavill He had no idea whether he was still in the Bond higher-ups' minds. "But I think the role’s fantastic and I’d love to throw my oversized hat into the ring again if they are! It’d be nice to see a Scottish Bond again."

In a chat with iconic British director Danny Boyle a little while ago, we talked about his doomed James Bond project. He signed up to oversee Bond 25 in February 2018 with his long-time screenwriting partner John Hodge, but it didn’t take long for the wheels to come off. They left the project in August of the same year over creative differences – reportedly over Boyle’s insistence that they kill off Bond, which we know now to be a heap of nonsense. With an orchestra on this show, the musicians are taken from the UK’s other leading orchestras, sessions and West End shows, and combined with well-known fan influencer David Zaritsky of The Bond Experience Channel who will guide you through the concert. It’s out with Daniel Craig and in with… well, who? That’s the question that will be preoccupying EON producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson over the coming months. When will the next James Bond be announced? So we're a long, long way away from a photocall with some dashing young chap wearing a tux. Some clues have been dropped though. So, here we are at last. No Time To Die came and went, and it's now more than two years since Daniel Craig was banged out of MI6. The question turns to who will be the next James Bond now he's swapped his Walther PPK for a P45. After a 2023 spent riding high in both the TV charts – and the music charts, with the tie-in album Aurora – for his role as Billy Dunne in the series about the fictional band Daisy Jones & The Six, Claflin has definitely made the crossover to bonafide star on both sides of the Atlantic. At some point in the not-too-distance future, white smoke will come billowing out of EON’s metaphorical chimney and the identity of the new 007 will be revealed. Until that time comes, there’s a tonne of fun to be had in speculating who will commit near-on a decade to playing MI6’s finest. So, who might be 007 after Daniel Craig? We know what his family thinks about his Bond bid. But what does Teller think about it all? He vaguely told Entertainment Tonight about hypothetically taking on the role: “Yeah. I mean, yeah perfect, I think we're actors, you know, so maybe you can mix it up a little bit.”

The Venom and Peaky Blinders star has been linked with the role since long before it was actually available. But at 45, he doesn’t seem to fit the profile Michael G Wilson has set out of a ‘thirtysomething’ actor. Then again, a conversation around the new Bond can hardly not involve Hardy’s name. He helped turbo-charge Mad Max: Fury Road , despite having about seven words to say, and his suave spy in Inception was a stellar 007 audition. If EON is looking for a beefy badass with soulful vibes and serious acting craft, Hardy could be the guy. He might insist on wearing a mask, though . 6. Chiwetel Ejiofor In a chat with TMZ, former Bond George Lazenby threw his weight behind fellow "good-looking Aussie dude" and baby of the Hemsworth acting brood Liam, adding that the new guy – whoever they are – had to be "crazy enough, arrogant enough, confident enough, ambitious enough to take on the role". Co-producer Michael G Wilson has also stressed that Bond 26 will be a hard reset for the franchise and for Bond himself. Don’t expect any youngsters in the running was the gist of his comments in 2022.Phase three Pattinson would make for a very interesting 007 indeed. We're not saying that the foppish spy he played in Tenet is definitely a James Bond audition tape. But we will point out he pulls off a double-breasted suit even better than Roger Moore.

Perhaps most importantly, you also need to be in tune with the era in which the new Bond exists. Whoever it is will have to do the same scene for their audition: the one in From Russia With Love where Bond suspects an intruder has come for him in his hotel room, only to find it's Tatiana Romanova trying to put her moves on him. He’d never really been thought of as a contender before, which was strange when you think about it, as he’s already proven his acting chops as Action Man in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Godzilla and Tenet, while simultaneously showing thespian range in movies like Anna Karenina, A Million Little Pieces, and his breakthrough smash in which he starred as a young John Lennon, Nowhere Boy. On that note, another 'probs not' to file alongside Elba's, although more cryptic, came from Jamie Dornan recently. Being very buff and Irish he's occasionally mentioned in dispatches from the front lines of the Who Will Be The Next Bond trenches, but talking to the Radio Times about his new spy thriller Heart of Stone, he said: " I love doing it, but you know – I've said this sort of thing before – I wouldn't want to do that movie after movie after movie." He also told Digital Spy that its female-led story was "much more where we need to be headed at the moment, after decades and decades of male-drive spy thrillers". So, unless there's a pretty severe about-turn in the Bond universe, it sounds like he's counting himself out too.)But Boyle still thinks the series has a bright future (even if he doesn’t see himself being involved in it), and he suggested two actors who could take over Daniel Craig in the role. One is Robert Pattinson – someone who has been suggested many times before – and the other is Paapa Essiedu, the award-winning actor from Michaela Coel’s I May Destroy You and Alex Garland’s Men. Boyle had seen him perform in the play A Number at the Old Vic a few days previously, and put him forward as a potential candidate. It’s that time again. One James Bond has handed in his Walter PPK, licence to kill and loyalty card at the MI6 staff caf é , and the process of replacing him is underway And, just for the avoidance of doubt, Idris Elba – the people's champ – has said pretty definitively that it's not in his plans. Euphoria's Nate Jacobs is one of the hottest young actors around and the other Aussie Bond George Lazenby has been through a bit of a critical renaissance over the last few years – not least within the Bond universe itself, having been given his flowers about 50 years late in all the nods and references in No Time To Die. So could it be time for another tall man from Down Under to endure a barrage of red-top headlines mashing Bond iconography with laboured puns about kangaroos, shrimps and barbies? Global James Bond Day is observed annually on October 5 to commemorate the release of Dr. No in 1962. It first began in 2012, when Eon Productions celebrated the golden anniversary of the film franchise. Special events were held around the globe; they included the official release of the new theme song, “Skyfall” by Adele. Since then, James Bond enthusiasts all over the world have celebrated Global James Bond Day every year.
