About this deal

hi my lovelies i’m very much hungover and will try and get my review up sometime later or tomorrow😭in the mean time let me stalk all my interactive besties💋💋

I loved the new riddles this story had as well as how we got more of Xander in this book. I could tell how much Avery had changed and how much she started loving solving these riddles and I really liked it. Jameson and Grayson were... there. They were self destructive like in the first book but still important to the story. Now poor Avery has to live in Hawthorne Manor with the very same grandsons who were all but cut out of the elder Hawthorne's will. That isn't awkward at all. Grayson Hawthorne was arrogant enough to consider himself bulletproof—and honorable enough to see a promise through to its end.” please be on the lookout for bruna🫣my bae is gonna be mad at me and expect there to be chaos😳shei bb protect me while i sleep. my angel sel, make sure they don’t kill each other in the comments🤗he will always be such a cutie to me. jameson makes me giggle and smile while grayson makes me swoon and gives me all the butterflies hehe. jameson also being vulnerable…my heart ached for both him and gray😔the way they had to grow up…let me just say that i absolutely LOATHE their stupid mother. and i think thats why i didnt quite love this one as much. the first book ends on a massive cliffhanger with a certain goal in mind. however, that goal isnt met and the cliffhanger isnt resolved until the very end of this book. i just found that to be too long of a wait. sure, theres stuff in between - like i said, more puzzles and clues - but i found the pacing to be very slow in that regard. This book was in the same vein as the first one- a fun mystery with lots of drama and hints of romance. It’s a light book and honestly really cozy. It has a certain feel of safety in it if that makes any sense… Book Genre: Contemporary, Fantasy, Fiction, Mystery, Mystery Thriller, Romance, Thriller, Young Adult would you guys believe me if i told you that at one point in this book, i was dead set on rating it 4 stars? no? after all my updates on this book, i wouldn’t believe me either. let me tell you why this book went from 4 stars down to 2.

Grayson- It hurts me so much to say that JLB destroyed his character COMPLETELY. The way Grayson acted throughout the book was very inconsistent to his personality. You will question that a lot when you read it. Even if you're not "Team Grayson" it'll be crystal clear.

i saved that girl, i didn't save emily." that's a statement of fact, a truth carved into his soul. "i didn't save you." he looks up at me. "a bomb went off, and you were lying on the ground, and i just stood there.” In the first book the romance wasn’t really there for me. It annoyed me that Avery was so insta-love with both Jameson and Grayson and I didn’t really like either one of them in the end of Inheritance Games. By book two I was team Jameson. I have loved the growth of his character through the series and I love him and Avery together. This is the book where I think the author was finally able to bring their feelings through and make it good. The thing I loved most in this book is Avery was not so dependent on the Hawthorn brothers to follow her leads. She took initiative and went off on her own instead of waiting around for one of them to pay her attention. I have been waiting 3 books for this Avery and loved it.

i am def one of those people who always falls for the dark haired sarcastic love interest BUT there are times where the brooding blonde just finds his way to my heart and that IS EXACTLY what happened. i have always loved both jameson and grayson, i think they are both so unique from each other but i stil adore them THE SAME. i think i've always PERSONALLY in this series just felt a little more connected to grayson from the very beginning. so u would assume i would probably be very mad that jamesonavery (DO THEY NOT HAVE A SHIP NAME or am i just dumb) were endgame BUT surprisingly im not mad whatsoever. sure i whined a couple times, but they makes sense. i think a part of me knew that averyjameson were just so good for each other and jameson was what avery needed and I DEF see that now. i think the reason i was team grayson was bc i just loved him as a character and i rlly wanted him to have a happy ending and for him to overcome his trauma from emily and to me the way for that was through avery. BUT im very glad that he got a happy ending and moved on IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY. and ngl averyjameson were beyond adorable in this book like their scenes were amazing. SO IN CONCLUSION, im surprisingly very satisfied with the love triangle resolution :) no matter which ship it ends up being there will definitely be riots cri i just dont want either of my boys hurt😭 also grayson has a puppy now they’re so cute i love him so much. i bet his camera is filled w pictures of her now. i love gray so much i’m happy if he’s happy) literally him teaching avery self-defense and then also acting as her brother and making sure she stayed safe, giving avery advice, telling her not to be so rash in her decisions and just the way he comforted her when she'd be in distress😭😭 I LOVE HIM. and not only of that BUT HE SAVED A PUPPY. is there anything not to like about nash?? also libby and nash <33 Avery receives another courier-delivered envelope. It contains a photograph of a beat-up Toby holding a current newspaper. Avery and the Hawthorne brothers find a hidden message in the newspaper in the photo. It says: I always win in the end.Relying too much on the romance to hook the reader. By the end, I was just annoyed. It was clear that the love triangle was there to disguise the fact that nothing much really happens with the puzzles and plot. Do I still think that Avery and Grayson are endgame? Yes, and they'll be the only reason I read the final book (if I do). (Avery met Grayson first... so by love triangle logic this means they'll end up together lol.) Grayson is still definitely one of my favourite characters because obviously, HAVE YOU MET THIS MAN? I don’t like how she treated his character in this book though - she put him in an unnecessary position many times, painting him in a bad light in some scenes. Also, I know it’s mentioned multiple times that the Hawthorne family is from Texas, meaning they have the southern drawl but honestly that’s so unappealing. In my mind, they’re all British. Literally just picture them with British accents. screaming because the way this man knows she can take care of herself, but he still wants to do everything he can to make sure she’s safe🥲my MAN. Nash didn't care that I was eighteen, that I owned the House, that I wasn't actually his sister, or that I would put up one hell of a fight if he tried to stop me." the plot doesnt really progress much in this (see the line above), but there are more clues and puzzles and secrets. so if you were drawn to the quirky mysteriousness of tobias hawthorne and his family in ‘the inheritance games,’ then i think you will enjoy this installment. just expect more questions than answers.
