About this deal

When it comes to headlights used to illuminate your path, the mounting position and angle can change a lot about what you can see from the pilot seat. Most folks end up

The light is better on your handlebars or fork than on your frame - the frame lags and always points at some tangent to where you're going while turning, so either you need a really wide beam, or you have to ride into the dark. The Paul option replaces your stem cap with a raised 26mm tube that will hopefully allow your front light to clear your front bag. These days all the conversation about lights is LUMENS, LUMENS, LUMENS! MORE, MORE, MORE! And while brighter is sometimes better, often it is how you choose to mount your lights that makes the bigger difference for your night-vision. Because I have different bikes, I need to be able to move my light from bike to bike. The Gino Mount would have worked on the MB-1 but not my Waltworks CX bike. I am not sure if the Brake Stud Mount would have worked on the Waltworks because I have Paul Neo-Retro Brakes. I am not so sure about using a QR Nut Mount as part of my QR. Get a gopro handlebar mount, and put it around your headtube with the clamp between the top and downtubes. This will let you use some kind of gopro to your-light adapter. There are a ton of options for mounting things under the bars too, which helps clean up your working area. Risk here is that some lights are built with a certain intentional beam pattern, and flipping them will light up other road users in an non-legal manner. On a side note, if you’re keen on dynamo light setups, make sure to read my article about dynamo light beam shape, light output, light efficiency and more. Axle Mounts
