If the plant is already suffering, you can try to plant it in good potting soil. Hold the plant at the base with one hand and gently tap on the pot to take it out. The roots cannot get the required space to grow and the plant becomes root-bound. The roots circle inside the pot. They are unable to get the required nutrients and moisture from the potting soil. Humidity range: 65-70%. High humidity levels will ensure that your seedlings can absorb water through their leaves. For nutrient deficiency, it's obvious that you need to boost the feed. Add gradually and observe how the plant reacts. Grow boosters can help, too. If you find that the plant is dead because its foliage, stem, and roots are dead then it’s time to dispose of it.
If there is still some material left, you could give it to your family or friends who grow plants or make their own compost.
Stunted Growth
The Dodo – once out of the pan the name change from plantain to dodo occurs – should be allowed to cool down for 4 – 6 minutes. This delivers dodo that’s hot but not the hot-of-mouth-roof-burning fame.
As well as their stories these trees show us a fundamental aspect of nature. Interactions between animals and plants are everywhere. They are both complex and dynamic, but fragile at the same time. If we ignore these connections between plants and animals more species will face the same fate as the dodo. A nutrient issue can also present as nutrient burn. Such as when too many nutrients are dispensed in the soil, creating a toxic effect on the plant. Unrotten compost can also lead to nutrient burn. Dark-green leaves with yellow and brown tips are indicative of this diagnosis. There could also be reddish or purple stalks and branches, and calyx tips may start to die. With underwatered plants, it's obvious what needs to be done: feed the thirsty monster with more water!If the plants don’t get the required nutrients when growing they may have stunted growth and even die.
This was a compelling and plausible story, and not surprisingly captured people’s attention. However, the story has a more positive postscript. Further research has shown that surviving tortoises are also likely to disperse the seeds of this tree, and more tambalacoque trees have been found, including some younger individuals. Although now discredited as the sole agent of dispersal, the dodo’s relationship with this tree still continues to fascinate. In 2004, the Botanical Society of America's Plant Science Bulletin disputed Temple's research as flawed. The Bulletin published evidence as to why the dodo's extinction did not directly cause the increasing disappearance of young trees, including suggestions that the Cylindraspis giant tortoises would have been more likely to disperse the seeds than dodos, casting doubt on Temple's view as to the dodo and the tree's sole survival relationship. Temple (1977) force-fed seventeen tambalacoque fruits to wild turkeys. Seven of the fruits were crushed by the bird's gizzard. The remaining ten were either regurgitated or passed with the bird's feces. Temple planted the remaining ten fruits and three germinated. Temple did not try to germinate any seeds from control fruits not fed to turkeys so the effect of feeding fruits to turkeys was unclear. Reports made on tambalacoque seed germination by Hill (1941) and King (1946) found the seeds germinated without abrading. The extinction of the dodo in the 17th century, due to hunting by people, was linked by Temple to the absence of young trees. Put simply, the extinction of the dodo was preventing the tambalacoque from regenerating and the tree seemed doomed to go the same way.
