Carmellose sodium eye drops can be stored at room temperature and do not need to be kept in a fridge. What if I forget to use it? After putting in the eye drops you may get slightly blurred vision. If your vision is affected it is recommended that you do not drive or use any machinery until your vision has cleared. Carmellose sodium comes in a bottle with an eye dropper, or as a box of single-dose droppers. The single-dose droppers do not contain preservatives. How to use the eye drops Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby. But you can reseal some brands and use them again up to 12 hours later, for example Carmize, Cellusan and Melophthal. There are no known harmful effects when this medicine is used by pregnant or breastfeeding mothers. Make sure that the single-dose container is intact before use. The solution should be used immediately after opening. To avoid contamination or possible eye injury, do not let the open-end of the single-dose container touch your eye or anything else.
