Sandwich Tern yellow K3D (DE03148) was ringed at Lady’s Island Lake, Wexford (IRELAND) on 27 June 2018 and sighted at Colwyn Bay, Conwy (Wales) on 17 August 2018 and on Findhorn beach (NJ0364) on 5 August 2020, after 2 years 1 month. Ringed Plover‘yellow/blue/red’ was ringed at Hayling Island (Hampshire) on 18 September 2013 and sighted on the Lossie estuary (NJ2470) on 7 April 2014 and again on 17 April 2016 after 2 years 7 months. Sandwich Tern blue KNA was ringed as a breeding adult at Scolt Head (Norfolk) on 31 May 2018 and sighted on Findhorn beach (NJ0364) on 7 September 2019, after 1 year 3 months. Pink-footed Goose ISR07198 (orange collar VXD) was ringed at Jokuldalsheidi (ICELAND) on 24 July 2017 and sighted at Clochan (NJ4061) on 12 December 2017, after 4 months 3 weeks.

Pale-bellied Brent Goose DDON was ringed in Dublin Bay (IRELAND) on 7 February 2017 and sighted at Grunnafjordur (ICELAND) on 7 May 2017, at Snaefellsnes (ICELAND) on 11 September 2017, in Dublin Bay (IRELAND) on 12 November 2017 and 19 March 2018, at Traigh Mhor (Barra) on 24 April 2018, at Grunnafjordur (ICELAND) on 12 May 2018 and at Nairn west beach (NH8757) on 14 November 2020, after 3 years 9 months. Brent Goose D1BB was ringed at Dublin Bay (IRELAND) on 5 March 2013 and found on breeding grounds just east of Bathurst Island (Arctic CANADA) on 11 June 2014. It was sighted on the Lossie estuary (NJ2470) on 25 October 2015.Where a date is given for a scarce visitor this indicates, where known, the date of the first record in Moray and Nairn. Mute Swan Sandwich Tern white M9C was caught at Donana National Park, Huelva (SPAIN) on 30 October 2019 and sighted on Findhorn beach (NJ0364) on 21 September 2020, after 10 months 3 weeks. Waxwing‘white/orange/yellow’ was ringed at Kincorth (Aberdeen NJ9303) on 29 November 2022 and sighted at Elgin (NJ2361) on 13 December 2022, after 2 weeks. Sandwich Tern DE10167 was ringed at the Ythan estuary (Aberdeenshire) on 12 June 2008 and sighted at the Lossie estuary on 9 August 2012 and at Findhorn on 20 August 2013.

Sandwich Tern UKS was ringed on Inner Farne, Farne Islands (Northumberland) on 17 July 2013 and sighted at Findhorn on 13 August 2013. Findhorn foreshore south of the village will usually contain large numbers of Redshank in winter, together with a few other waders such as Dunlin and the occasional Greenshank. Along the village foreshore a group of around 30 Turnstone can usually be seen in winter. In summer it is a good area to watch Ospreys fishing. Whimbrel can sometimes be seen on the sands and grass near the bird hide. The channels running along the eastern half of the bay will usually have plenty of Goldeneye and Red-breasted Mergansers in winter. Greylag Goose‘orange AZU’ was ringed at Dell of Killyhuntly, near Kingussie (Highland NH7800) on 22 March 2012 and sighted at Moyness (NH9553) on 21 November 2015 after 3 years 8 months.

Common Gull 2TVA (EY94185) was ringed at Tillypronie near Tarland (Aberdeenshire) on 28 June 2014 and sighted at Findhorn on 26 August 2014 after 59 days. Herring Gull T5WG (GY06275) was ringed as a nestling at Calf of Man (Isle of Man) on 30 June 2019 and sighted on Lossie estuary (NJ2469) on 2 June 2022, after 2 years 11 months. Knot orange JVT (SR75997) was ringed at Nigg (Highland) on 11 February 2021 and sighted at Burghead (NJ1169) on 25 August 2021 and at Findhorn Bay (NJ0463) on 2 October 2021, after 6 months 3 weeks.

Knot YHX was ringed at Neslon, Nordur Pingeyjarsysla (ICELAND) on 24 May 2011 and sighted at Findhorn Bay (NJ0462) on 18 & 19 January 2018, after 6 years 7 months.Sandwich Tern DD59474 was ringed at the Ythan estuary (Aberdeenshire) on 30 May 2008 and sighted at Belfast Lough (Co. Antrim) on 17 August 2011, at the Ythan estuary on 23 July 2013 and at Findhorn on 17 August 2013. Sandwich Tern DE35568 was ringed at the Ythan estuary (Aberdeenshire) on 26 July 2013 and sighted at Findhorn on 22 August 2013. Ringed Plover red/blue/yellow (NV85488) was ringed at Eastoke, Hayling Bay (Hampshire) on 18 September 2013 and sighted on Lossie estuary (NJ2470) on 26 April 2022, after 8 years 7 months. Sandwich Tern DE65761 was ringed at the Ythan estuary (Aberdeenshire) on 5 June 2013 and sighted at Findhorn on 18 August 2013.

Shag green XUD (1707380) was ringed as a nestling on Isle of May (Fife NT6599) on 23 June 2021 and found dead at Covesea (NJ2071) on 27 December 2021, after 6 months. Knot orange JUX (SR75988) was ringed at Nigg (Highland) on 11 February 2021 and sighted at Ardersier (Highland) on 22 January 2022, at Laxarholt (ICELAND) on 14 May 2022 and in Findhorn Bay (NJ0462) on 13 February 2023, after 2 years.Redshank DT03036 was ringed at the Ythan estuary (Aberdeenshire NJ9927) on 24 August 2014 and sighted in Findhorn Bay (NJ0362) on 2 January 2016 after 1 year 4 months. Knot orange JXM (SR75607) was ringed at Nigg (Highland) on 11 February 2021 and sighted in Findhorn Bay (NJ0463) on 11 November 2021, after 9 months.
