About this deal

At nine hours two minutes in PCMark10's battery test and nine hours one minute in our HD movie test, this is still an excellent result, even if the XPS 13 is the champ with 11 hours 47 minutes in PCMark 10 and 11 hours one minute in our HD movie test. The Book 13 is somewhere in the middle, with 11 hours 42 minutes in PCMark10 but nine hours 20 minutes in our HD movie test. Moving on to the keyboard, the Lenovo ThinkBook 15 features a chiclet-type keyboard. Although this keyboard has well-shaped keys, it has a very short key travel. To be more specific, the laptop’s hinges, as well as display bezels are made of plastic. Moreover, despite their plastic build, the hinges are very sturdy and allow the lid to be opened up to 180 degrees. However, the laptop weighs more than most of its competitors. Therefore, I will rate the Lenovo ThinkBook 15 an eight out of ten in this design review section. Lenovo ThinkBook 15 Processor (CPU) Performance Review The compact chassis doesn't afford a ton of space for cooling, and the dual fans seem to run almost constantly when you're using the laptop. While fan noise is often a constant, it usually doesn't exceed 35 decibels when idling and 45 decibels when under load. That's not much more than ambient noise around the house or a quiet office. Fan noise doesn't get much louder if you opt for Lenovo's Vantage Extreme power setting.

For storage, the Lenovo ThinkBook 15 comes with a PCIe SSD storage type that offers a maximum storage capacity of 1 TB. In my opinion, 1 TB of storage space should be enough for most users to save their important information. The ThinkBook 13s definitely lags behind these two in single-core performance (1,404 for the ThinkBook 13s versus 1,539 for the XPS 13 and 1,558 for the Book 13), but considering that this is more marketed towards business and professional users, multicore performance is much more important, so when it comes down to it, they're pretty evenly matched. In conclusion, the Lenovo ThinkBook 15 features a powerful and fast processor that is capable of handling any computing task. Besides, this laptop performed better than most of its closest competitors on a CPU benchmark test.

Hence, the laptop performance is better than its competitors such as the ASUS ZenBook 14 and Schenker Vision 15. To give more details, the ZenBook 14 and Schenker Vision 15 scored 11058 and 6971 respectively on the 3DMark 11 test. Moreover, the laptop’s chassis is made from high-quality silver aluminum, which gives off a bold and solid look. Nevertheless, this laptop still features a few plastic materials. Battery: These systems do not support batteries that are not genuine Lenovo-made or authorised. Systems will continue to boot, but may not charge unauthorised batteries. Lenovo has no responsibility for the performance or safety of unauthorised batteries, and provides no warranties for failures or damage arising out of their use. **Battery life is based on the MobileMark® 2014 methodology and is an estimated maximum. Actual battery life may vary based on many factors, including screen brightness, active applications, features, power management settings, battery age and conditioning, and other customer preferences. However, I doubt if this storage space will be enough for storage-hungry users. Thankfully, the Lenovo ThinkBook 15 comes with a micro SD card slot for storage expansion.

The ThinkBook 13x gets its keyboard from Lenovo's IdeaPad line. It's not as satisfying as a ThinkPad keyboard, but it still feels snappy despite limited key travel. Notwithstanding, if you are looking for a laptop that offers outstanding overall performance, I strongly recommend the Lenovo ThinkBook 15. The ThinkBook 13s doesn't fare quite so well against its competitors when it comes to battery life though. It is Intel Evo certified, so we weren't surprised at all to see it make it past the nine hour mark in our battery tests, even if it just barely made it in both. In other to verify the laptop’s performance with this processor, I will briefly highlight the laptop’s Cinebench R15 benchmark test results. Briefly, Cinebench R15 is a benchmark test tool that evaluates the overall processing performance of a computer. Apart from its 4K UHD or FHD resolution, the Lenovo ThinkBook 15’s display is made with an IPS panel. Therefore, the laptop’s display offers wide viewing angles.
