However, when Sarah and Luca arrive, they soon find that the souls of the tortured still roam the halls. What’s more, a stranger is monitoring their every move. Without giving any spoilers away. Devils Door had a twist that I don't think anyone seen coming at the beginning. It's left me absolutely craving the next book! I listened to the audio book version of this story. Narrated by Hannibal Hills, the audio is just over 8 hours long. Hills does a great job of voice acting. I enjoyed his reading of the prequel, Inside: Perron Manor, and his performance was just as scary this time! As for the story, I enjoyed it from start to finish. The characters were a bit annoying at times and their decisions were total crap....but I don't think I would make great choices in a similar situation either!This book was one scary ride and author, Lee Mountford slowly builds up the haunting and spooky atmosphere all the way through the book then lowers the boom as things escalate in the manor to the point that I would stay up to the early morning hours reading it!

I listen to a lot of podcasts, and this story had the tone of a paranormal podcast with the added horror aspects that fiction can add. Loved it! But as they move closer to the opening date, things begin to happen in the hotel that are unexplainable. And Rita herself begins to change. All of that is compounded when they find a study upstairs, filled with occult items and a strange book written in Latin. I don’t have the feeling of anything evil, [but] it’s very busy,” he said. “You can tell there’s a lot of things going on in the house.”

It was a chance encounter at a California bookstore in 1974, that would eventually reveal one of the most terrifying hauntings in American history. The case, which was used as the basis for the film “The Entity,” involved a woman named Doris Bither and her four children. Bither was the woman at the bookstore who overheard two men discussing a haunted house and approached them to say that her house was also haunted. This was a fast paced story and it kept me on the edge of my seat! A true nail-biter as the haunting atmosphere just wrapped itself around me the more I became involved in the story!
