i don’t know if i’m gonna read another daisy haites book because i can’t stand julian and i really like christiandaisy but i’m not as invested in them because of julian taking over their books. he should’ve just been given a novella that i can ignore or something. so disappointing. Oh boy. I'm not even sure where to begin. This was one of my most anticipated releases and it's very upsetting when something doesn't live up to expectations. Truthfully, I started to get a bit nervous about this book once the "promo" for it started, but we will get there. Let's just dive in. Bear with me this is my first time writing a review. I had A LOT to say and this was the only format I could thing to get it all out. They were all such awful people but you can’t help but feel so sorry for them and root for them it makes no sense but it makes sense okay?!
I hope Julian's feelings for Magnolia are like the feelings Christian had for Magnolia and he finds the true love of his life, he deserves to be happy.
I feel like Jessa Hastings had the beginning and the ending of the book and then just filled the rest with Magnolia and Julian. Like I understand that we also have a Julian POV since he's also in the 2nd book and that Magnolia is a fav character in the mp universe but I somehow felt like their relationship takes over from this book more instead of Daisy and Christian. (since I didn’t read mp:tlwh cause I don’t like Magnolia and BJ that much so I didn’t know that some of what happened here was the same as from that book so that’s why I’m okay with it. probably if I read it, I would be a bit mad too)
omg he has 22 tattoos about her and she’s thinking about them while having sex with another man? they’re soulmates💗. too many plot lines, too many useless characters (YES TILLER, I AM LOOKING AT YOU) and not enough twists. like... the possibilities are literally right there. make Tiller betray Daisy and Julian. But now their dysfunction is catching up with them, pulling at their seams and fraying the world they’ve built; a world where neither has ever let the other go completely.The love triangle here was killing me. I’m probably in the minority who liked Tom because in comparison to bj he was utterly mature and respectful and a literal dream—even though I was questioning my feelings about him as well in a sense given the situation going on with him—It was quite toxic but I also didn’t really care sm about it Growing up, Daphne always knew Peter Pan would come for her. The way he'd come for her mother, and her grandmother and Wendy before that. The Darling girls. Their stories are all the same: the forever-young boy at their window after their thirteenth birthday, and the shimmering, magical land behind a star. HOW? Julian. okay, i never really liked the man so the relationship between him and Magnolia was not going to affect my opinion of him in the slightest but GOD WAS HE ANNOYING THIS BOOK. i liked that we saw his "lover" side this book and he had a character development. i'm proud because that's my boy, i was in the trenches defending him after DH1 and LOOK AT HIM NOW. Daisy and Tiller (EYEROLL). Another couple that made no sense! YAY. If you haven’t read this book PLEASE GO and witness the way their conversations can bore a person to death! That was so fun actually, I imagined their whole dynamic at the dinner table being like a shopping list of the things going on at work/university, followed by sex and then they pushed the repeat button for a whole ass year. And we had to listen to the ramble of this for half of the book before Christian Hemmes - our dear lord and savior amen - came to the rescue.srsly I could not comprehend why Julian is behaving like he’s a main character when 𝘏𝘌 𝘐𝘚 𝘕𝘖𝘛 𝗜𝗱𝗰 𝗶𝗳 𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝘃, 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗰 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘃 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗭𝗔, 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝟴 🤡🤡) He’s supposed to stfu and STAY IN HIS LANE. It’s made me FEEL emotions I never knew I had until now. Their pain was my pain. Their love was my love. Their happiness was my happiest moment. They broke, I cried. Yeah, it’s intense but it hurts so good.
