About this deal

Louise Pentland has opened up on the horrifying abuse she suffered at the hands of her stepmother Credit: Lancton Num aparte, uma cena que achei bastante engraçada foi a ida ao Ikea porque vamos ser lá honestos: aquilo é um labirinto humano e ninguem sobrevive a uma visita ao Ikea com toda a sua paciência e juventude intactas. Ik hoop dat een Nederlandse uitgeverij dit nog op gaat pikken om te vertalen. Het geeft een mooie blik achter de schermen, hoe het leven is als we ons masker naar de buitenwereld even afzetten. Firstly , the main character Tabitha is ever so relatable and a bit all over the place, like most of us I imagine ! I saw a lot of myself in her with the way she loves her comfort zone and I can only hope that one day I have the courage she does at the end of the book to get outside of that.

I loved the time travel element of this novel. As someone who grew up in the 1980s, I revelled in the retro fashion details. I adored the mention of long lost shops. I couldn’t get enough of the tiny day to day differences. I felt I was with Tabby as she discovered the world of big hair, even bigger shoulder pads and mountains of Elnett hair spray. She is the poster girl for plus-size women and has been an outspoken supporter of women of all body types. She has cast herself flawlessly in the various roles she has taken on, and her channels have undergone a completely daring makeover over the years, which the viewers have enthusiastically embraced. On 1 September 2016, after her divorce, she announced in the blog post Why I'm 'Quitting' My Youtube Channel [17] and the video Finishing with Sprinkle of Glitter [18] that she will be quitting her YouTube channel as it is now, and change to something more 'adult', as she feels she has grown up a lot since the start of her channel, and it's time for something new and something she feels is more 'Louise Pentland', instead of 'SprinkleofGlitter'. The story itself is easy to read and, at times, really funny. There were parts that really made me laugh, and parts that were a little more serious. The novel focuses a lot on main character Robin's emotions, which can often be quite up and down, and I liked that these emotions were not something to be excused or apologised for. However I wasn't sure that Robin's mental health was just due to her being lonely without a man in her life; this felt a bit too 'simple', and Robin was also so preoccupied with worrying that Lyla might be negatively affected because she's is a single mum which is a shame. I suppose that's what Robin feels is the opinions of society and I'm sure many other people sadly feel this pressure too (I don't have any kids so I guess I can't comment on this), but it feels a bit outdated. Wilde Like Me is author Loiuse Pentland’s debut novel. A funny, fast paced read, Loiuse explores being a woman and motherhood in the 21st century. Through the first person, she takes an in depth look into being a single parent, the role of friends and family as well as the negative effects of social media. From yummy mummy’s to aspiring to the perfect English life, Louise leaves no stone unturned. While I’m not a fan of this particular topic, the title and the blurb led me to believe that this could be a book I could enjoy. I did. I enjoyed every minute that I spent getting to know Robin Wilde.

Okay, so I am a long time fan of Louise, bought and read all her books and sadly, this one I didn’t think was amazing. She plugged it a lot in her social media and once I read it, I felt almost uncomfortable reading it, with her sister knowing that her mother has been written about without being able to show her side, fair enough though. And i felt like it would’ve been improved a little more by adding photographs perhaps? I also felt the title was a bit off putting for those who aren’t mums, or maybe even those who have lost babies. This is just my opinion. Louise launched her second YouTube channel, “Sprinkle of Chatter,” on July 26, 2012. For her, this channel has evolved into a personal vlog and lifestyle advice outlet. Even though I know I don’t want to experience it myself, she shows me that it is possible to be a loving and genuinely good parent after having been traumatized by parental figures growing up (good parent as in « does their best for the good of their kid by being attentive to what their kids need and say », not the societal myth of what a good parent supposedly is). I didnt really get it, the writing felt a little all over the place and I felt like I couldn't understand where exactly the plot was going.

There’s really two inciting incidents - the first involving a revelation by her dad and the second a time travelling ring. Chapman, Sophie (25 September 2011). "Beauty comes from within: Bloggers Uncovered: Louise from 'Sprinkle Of Glitter' ". Beauty Comes From Within. Archived from the original on 19 August 2014 . Retrieved 18 August 2014. The prologue was smiley and left me with a couple of thoughts - who is this perfect man and can he teach my husband how to do romance 😏. This book is raw and emotion. It is honest and hard to read at times but it is also 100% on brand for this author and really very funny in parts. There was one particular story Louise told about Darcy having a 'tell it like it is' moment that made me spit out the Red Bull I had just taken a sip of. Then the next chapter I cried a bit and that's the emotional roller coaster I went on with this book!year old Tabitha lives in a cottage with her boyfriend, for the owner Julia, she manages a quaint shop pearls and Doodles, that’s painted my favourite colour, bright magenta pink. I was definitely right about Robin being a relatable character, she had all the normal parenting concerns, many of which I couldn't help but nod my head in agreement at. The emptiness was highlighted and described beautifully, it really touched a part of me that sometimes feels the same way. It's always good to know that you're not the only one feeling a certain way, particularly when it involves your children. So I have been advised to post somewhere where Louise Pentland cannot delete posts from people who aren’t 100% “good eggs” and positive. I have also messaged her management regarding her passive aggressive messages and unprofessional behaviour, from an account that outs her family members who do not want to be in the spotlight like her.
