About this deal

Parchment: VMA Sand (Ivory) washed with Agrax Earthshade, then highlighted again with VMA Sand (Ivory) again. Now with my glaze of Pallid Wych Flesh ready, I go over the raised muscle of the skin to make it stand out against the rest of the flesh, but not enough to make it too much of a bright white color to overwhelm the Rakarth Flesh. Add dots of pure white over the previous steps. This is the bit where suddenly it looks like metal and it’s very satisfying. You really are aiming for small dots (unless it’s a vehicle then you can go for bigger patches. Reds

mix of Basalt Grey and Vallejo Game Color Stonewall Grey. This was put mostly in the top half of areas and more upward facing angles. (center right) My skills and knowledge around painting is very limited, but let me give you my idea of the questions I have asked above. Here is a list of Citadel Colour paints that can be used in combination with Incubi Darkness to create a range of effects and styles. Averland Sunset: This warm, golden-orange paint is a great choice for adding a touch of warmth and energy to models painted with Incubi Darkness. It can be used to highlight edges and recesses, creating a sense of dynamism and movement. When I took on Custodes I was happy that the person who I painted them for wanted something other than the classic gold. As much as I love a really nice rich gold colour, I find it pretty overwhelming on the Custodes models. Instead, I went for a striking red-dominated scheme, with darker bronze metallics. Drazhar is a beautiful model, maybe my favorite in the entire game, and was an absolute joy to paint as well. I won’t talk about him too extensively here, since I already wrote an article for Goonhammer about some techniques I used to paint him. If you are curious though, you can read that article here . Long story short, Apothecary White and Tesseract Glow are your friends. Any thoughts? Like I said, my skills and knowledge is very limited, especially my knowledge surrounding what colors match and what colors dont match

I have looked everywhere for inspiration and the one thing that really catches my eye is the new Knight of Shrouds model, specifically the blueish color of the clothing on the steed. Although their numbers were greatly reduced during the Battle of the Webway during the Horus Heresy, the Legio Custodes now once again numbers ten thousand warriors, each dedicated to the protection of Terra. Since the return of Roboute Guilliman and his ascension to the role of Imperial Regent, they have lifted their self-imposed Edict of Restraint and once again begun crusading across the Imperium to bring swift death to the foes of mankind. They played a pivotal role in Guilliman’s battle against Magnus and the Thousand Sons on Luna, and in the defense of the Imperial palace. Such is their might that the Administratum has never recorded a single loss for the a battle that the Custodes have participated in. Sybarite Green where it makes sense on the cloth – this is a bit of an art, but you want to put some lines to give it some definition. You can push these further with Skarsnik Green if you want The fade on the ghostly areas was created with an airbrush. I built up the effect with several thin coats of pure Coelia Greenshade, concentrating on the lower parts of the ghostly robes. If you don’t have an airbrush, I recommend several glazes of Incubi Darkness thinned down heavily with water. Glazing with shades can often leave a blotchy finish. You could also skip this stage to speed up the process.Blood Games by Dan Abnett is a short story set within the Emperor’s Palace and what Custodes do when they’re not fighting. All those mixing of colors is usually something I dont want to do, cause I am always having a hard to replicating the color. Abaddon is the most dangerous threat to the Imperium, commanding the blessings of all four Chaos gods while retaining his humanity. He has recently set his sights on Vigilus, the lone bastion of realspace providing safe passage to the Imperium Nihilus through the Nachmund Gauntlet. Although stymied on his first attempt to capture the planet, he has been readying his forces for a new attempt. Where to Read More The steel was done with a base coat of Citadel Leadbelcher, an all-over layer of Nuln Oil, then a final edge highlight of Vallejo Game Color Silver. I would love to have a blue feel to the whole army and then some very light green drybrushing effect where the blue and green is sort of melted together. The green is supposed to represent the flame effect that I am planning on the guardian of souls-model. Do you think that will work?

Whether used as a base coat or for shading and highlighting, this paint is a versatile and essential tool for any hobbyist’s palette. What armies to paint with Incubi Darkness? The steel is a new recipe for me using Scale 75 Eclipse Grey > Scale 75 Anthracite Grey > Scale 75 Behring Blue > GW Fenrisian Grey > Scale 75 White

To sum up: the only valid way to do paint compatibility charts is with actual physical samples, either by eyeballing or with colorimeter (if you have samples side by side you can utilize digital camera with RAW mode as a colorimeter). All other tools are very limited novelty. Verdigris was added by painting Nihilakh Oxide into select recesses. I then added a bit of VGC Foul Green [ Sybarite Green] to further enrichen the effect.Caliban Green: This deep, forest green paint pairs well with Incubi Darkness, creating a sense of depth and mystery. It can be used to add highlights and details to models painted with Incubi Darkness, creating a sense of verdant life amidst the darkness. So only Dark Reaper and Mechanicus Standard Grey are close, but still visually distinguishable. All the rest are poor to bad. What the sheet is saying in these cases is that there is no close match in the two ranges. So you gave three cases of double "matches" but for most of those they aren't actually matches, just as close as the ranges could get. yeah, I watched a little of that as well this morning. Skimming through it, and she does achieve a really nice blend. Although it's a bit too advanced for me atm with the mixing of colors. However, I know that you can achieve a similar effect by just using coelia greenshade in the transition between ulthuan and stegadon scale. Most of surface painted with Basalt Grey. 1:1 mix of Basalt and Stonewall Grey on upper half. Top edge Stonewall Grey. Skulls I airbrush Citadel Mephiston Red as a highlight. You can do this with a brush but this is why you buy an airbrush because it’s so much simpler with one.
