About this deal

Headfirst For Halos, 100/10- MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ON THIS CD. It's probably one of my all time favorite MCR songs (This song and I'm Not Okay are my favorite MCR songs. :P) I also love how upbeat it is. :D The first hint of things to come was the blood-splattered debut album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, which turns 20 this Saturday. Its title came from a short story Gerard had written in one of the many notebooks strewn about his bedroom in the pre-MCR days; the eldest song, “Skylines and Turnstiles,” came to life roughly one week after 9/11. By the end of the first verse on the original demo, Gerard works himself to a scream: “If the world needs something better, let’s give them one more reason NOW, NOW, NOOOW!” Release history [ edit ] Release history and formats for I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love Region We walk in single file/We light our rails and punch our time/Ride escalators colder than a cell/This broken city sky/Like butane on my skin/And stolen from my eyes

Dusting 'Em Off: My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge". Consequence of Sound. June 8, 2014. a b Sullivan, Caroline (April 9, 2004). "Pop CD: My Chemical Romance, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love". The Guardian . Retrieved February 23, 2012. I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love is often regarded as a concept album. It involves two Bonnie and Clyde-esque characters who are eventually gunned down in the desert. On My Chemical Romance's next album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge (2004), the unnamed man supposedly then finds himself in purgatory, where he makes a deal with Satan: his hellbound lover for the souls of a thousand evil men. He is then resurrected and sent on his gruesome task. [20] Though it is generally accepted by the group's core fanbase, this has led some to attribute its supposed existence to over-analysis on the part of hardcore fans. [21] The alleged storyline is not confirmed by the band, but some evidence includes:

Demolition Lovers, 10/10- One of my other favorites! The lyrics are so deep, and it's got a lot of emotion and feeling to it.

Certifications [ edit ] Certifications for I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love Region Haag, Stephen (December 1, 2003). "My Chemical Romance: I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love". PopMatters. Fifteen years ago, a scruffy band of punks emerged from Newark, New Jersey, armed with an album that would change the scene forever. That band was My Chemical Romance, and their debut LP, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, was the first step in a musical career unlike anything we’d ever seen before. Disc is PERFECT. Totally scratchless whatsoever, which is an incredible feat considering I have bought new CDs sealed only to find that they have minute scratches from the factory. Amazed by the quality of a used CD for an 18 year old record. Skylines and Turnstiles, 8/10- I don't really understand why people do not like this song too much... I think it is a very deep and terrific song to be honest. I think Gerard did a good job on this one, considering it's his first song he ever wrote. ...Though to be fair he has improved much more. By the way it ain't my favorite. But I do like it.

From grandiose gothic anthems (“Vampires Will Never Hurt You”) and tender ballads (“Early Sunsets Over Monroeville”) to rip-roaring punk jams (“Headfirst For Halos”) and solo instrumentals (“Romance”), this album — and this band — had it all. Here are some facts about each of the songs on this modern classic you might not know: Read more: Hear first audio release of My Chemical Romance’s “Every Snowflake Is Different (Just Like You)” 1. “Romance” Very early pressing of the album. Some songs are either a second longer or shorter on this version of the album (according to running the disc in Foobar2000). The matrix info is formatted similarly to earlier Eyeball releases, like the original print of Thursday's Waiting, which also had the NYC PO Box. Way obviously found Houdini an interesting painting subject, but his admiration of him is also brought up in the music video for MCR’s hit from their sophomore album, “I’m Not Okay (I Promise).” At the beginning of the video, before the song truly starts, fellow band member Ray Toro explains to Way why he’ll never make it – and lists his fondness of Houdini as one of the reasons why:

It’s a song about being really depressed, on a lot of anti-depressants, and wanting to kill yourself,” he explains. “But instead of doing that, I just wrote a song. So that’s what you should do if you ever want to kill yourself… Counseling works, and so do anti-depressants; it’s proven that they work for some people. Just don’t hurt yourself. There’s all kinds of hotlines to call. Write a song.” Probably the best-known song from the album, “Vampires Will Never Hurt You” tells, rather unsurprisingly, a story about our bloodthirsty friends. Before starting the band, Way had been working on some comic ideas revolving around vampires, but after leaving his job as a writer, he decided to take those ideas and apply them to some of the songs on My Chem’s debut, including “Vampires Will Never Hurt You.” 4. “Drowning Lessons” a b Ritt, Megan (July 5, 2009). "Guilty Pleasure: My Chemical Romance – I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love". Consequence of Sound.Early Sunsets Over Monroeville, 10/10- One of my other favorites on this album, I love how deep the lyrics get when you get even farther into the song, it starts so happy sounding, then... It gets somewhat morbid. I love it. :P
