About this deal

Clear Instructions – The instructions are laid out cleanly and clearly; anyone will be able to succeed just by reading through the steps. When cleaning your car’s paintwork, don’t polish the headlights. Polishes with any grit content can wear down the clear coat, making them more susceptible to UV, pollution and marks. If you do want to polish the lights, make sure the product you use doesn’t contain any grit, or use a clear coat sealant spray afterwards to restore the protective coating of the lights. Start by washing the headlights with standard car shampoo, before drying them with a chamois or microfibre towel. You can either remove the headlights for this job or leave them on your car. Just remember to cover the surrounding area with masking tape to protect the paintwork and plastic trim of the headlight. Given Autoglym’s reputation we expected good things from this kit and we weren’t disappointed. The instructions were the clearest and there’s even an online video to help if you are unsure. Free Delivery is not available for Over-Sized parcels, such as Exhausts, Radiators & Headlamps - For details on these items please see the 'Oversized Items' section below.

Sealant is a must too. In the same way that you apply a paint sealant or wax to polished paintwork to protect it, a sealant must be applied to headlights after using the polish. There may be a kit you quite like but does not possess a sealant but don't be concerned about this because you can buy appropriate sealants (recommended below) separately. The Armor All wipes were a real surprise and worked so well, we felt a bit daft for spending so much time struggling with the less-effective headlamp restorers. The price means you can afford to buy two and make sure you don’t have to skimp or rush too.Took 15 minutes per headlight to restore to absolutely like new. Amazing. It also cleaned up all the horrid mess I'd made from my previous unsuccessful attempts. There's enough left to do another set.” In the past, replacing damaged headlight covers was an expensive necessity to preserve safety, but now there are plenty of options for cheaply restoring your headlights yourself. A headlight restoration kit is a cheap and easy way to keep your car looking good and staying safe. The Best Choice for Headlight Restoration Kits In 2021 You expect to find wipes like these in a cleaning cupboard or nappy changing kit, so we weren’t expecting them to do a tough job like headlamp restoration which had taken us hours with polishers. But we were astounded at how effective they were. Of course, a damaged or worn headlight casing may not be the main cause of poor headlight performance. Headlight bulbs have a limited lifespan and will naturally dim over time, so you’ll need to replace the bulbs periodically to ensure maximum performance and visibility out on the road.

Instead of using abrasion from a paste or sandpaper like all the other kits here, the Armor All has a strong chemical soaked into a slightly abrasive fabric. Leave it to soak in for a few seconds, gently scrub and the top yellowed layer of plastic disappears. You then use a second wipe to apply a layer of a lacquer, which needs three hours in dry weather to cure and harden.div>
