About this deal

The range is quite good and it passes my favourite scientific test, which is walking into the kitchen while my computer is in the studio, easily. Stability is also quite great and I haven’t experienced almost any dropouts or stuttering. Another day, another very positive review of Hifiman on Ear Fidelity. You’re probably starting to wonder if I’m a Hifiman employee, but of course, it’s not true. Over the years, Hifiman has proven that they are the mad scientists of the audio market. Constantly improving and pushing the value to its limits. This is just the case with their new Deva Pro, which is a spectacular product that’s a true milestone in Bluetooth, over-ear headphones market. The new improved Bluemini R2R and the addition of the Stealth Magnets make it the best Bluetooth headphone on the market by far. Absolutely magnificent. Articulation is fine and the timbre is mostly natural but upper mids may sound with lesser intensity although nothing too noticeable while listening to music.

The general aim of the design seems to be making the headphones look like they’re made entirely out of metal and leather, but the earcups and the two ends of the headband are actually made of plastic. The leather is also not the real thing, although it does feel quite good to the touch. Can connect the BlueMini as DAC to my Android Phone running 24bit / 192kHz out of Onkyo HF Player, and it's a great experience (using my own USB-C cable). I really don’t want to sound rude, but when you post links, you really should make sure to read and understand them.As is typical of HIFIMAN, build is a mix of metal and plastic. Cup is made of plastic, but the grill and the “cup holder” thingy are all metal. No “wrong” moving part, whatsoever. The extension of the treble is good, with enough air for my personal taste, although I do again feel that the HE400se is slightly better in this regard. I am not complaining about the extension or sense of air, it is far better than many competitors, but in comparison to other Hifiman products, it does fall slightly behind. The rated output in mW is 230mW according to Hifiman’s real-world testing though they mention up to 1W on paper. That is a nice bonus and brings PC/Macs and smartphones into direct play without a BT signal required and allows traditional decoding up to 24BIT/192k.

I’ve used my computers as the main sources when testing the HiFiMAN Deva Pro with Bluetooth, with mostly FLACs ripped from CDs as music files. When using the headphones wired, I used a Topping DX7 and a Drop THX AAA 789. HiFiMAN Deva Pro Similar to Ananda BT, this module is equipped with the latest wireless technologies. You can utilize all of the widely-known aptX, aptX HD, and LDAC codecs. I used LDAC directly from my phone for this review. Once again, Hifiman uses its Ultra-Thin Diaphragm inside for the lowest distortion, fast response, and high level of detail. Having around the house headphones that are wireless is MASSIVELY convenient”– maybe, but the sound is compromised this way, and I see no reason why I should compromise when I am at the comfort of my home. And again – I don’t get why pointing out that the clamp is too low for physical activities is an issue. You may not care, but some other might. Bass is linear with good sub-bass extension for most of the time but it is not going to shine with deep bass electronic music nor offer a rumbling and thundurus experience. The way the Deva Pro works is very simple. To use it in BT mode, you attach the BT module to the bottom of the left cup, hold the button to turn it on, connect to source and away you go. To use them with a normal cable set up, just remove the module and connect the cable to both cups. I believe you can also use a 3.5 TRRS cable to just one side if you prefer, although I am not sure about the pin out, that would need to be confirmed. The additional Bluemini R2R module slots in on the left side and is light enough for you not to notice any significant change in the overall balance of the headphones when on your head. Controls are also relatively easy to reach during use. Holy dogs**t take, Batman! O___O But there’s a reason you are LITERALLY the ONLY person on the planet with it… Aka, either you got a bad pair of cans (which is totally possible w/ HiFiMan’s, tbf) or much more likely IMO, you’re just an absolutely freaking crap judge of headphones.
