About this deal

What makes the Body Glove Performer one of the most popular standup paddleboards on the waves today? We took it for a spin to find out for ourselves. The Body Glove line of paddleboards includes over 20 models which are designed for various on-water adventures and range from 8 feet to 15 feet in length. Body Glove standup paddleboard models include a kids’ paddleboard, paddleboard-kayak hybrids called SUPYAKS, tandem SUPYAKS, pedal drive SUPYAKS, multiperson boards and a yoga and fitness board. Body Glove paddleboards can be used by novice to advanced paddlers for recreational paddling, playing on the water, fishing, tandem touring, and even for wake surfing or being towed behind a motorized boat. We do not accept any gear in exchange for coverage. If we do not truly appreciate the gear, we don't write about it at all -- bad gear will fade into obscurity on its own if everyone ignores it. In addition, we focus on gear from reputable companies, reputable brands, and reputable retailers we trust. Body Glove Performer 11 is a perfect paddle board and SUP for all-purpose usage. You can take it for touring on whitewater, rafting on the lake, surfing on the sea and also for fishing and racing adventures on the beachside. We would not recommend newbies using this board in rougher water or windy conditions, as it is not as easy to control. The nose can easily get pushed off course and the board may feel wobbly. This is where a longer center fin would be beneficial in keeping the board straight.Even though the nose and tail are tapered, I really appreciate the 34″ width. For me, I favor wider boards for more stability vs narrower boards for more speed. With our friends and family, we tend to play around more than cruise for exercise. Plus, I think wider boards are more forgiving and stable for beginners, which makes it possible for newbie friends to have a good time, too. To keep the board stiff for maximum on-the-water performance, Body Glove use a triple-layer stringer and triple-layer side rail construction. Plus, Body Glove includes a carbon reinforced lengthwise stringer, which Body Glove shows off through a small window-like section of the outer PVC layer. The Body Glove Performer 11 ISUP has a sporty overall design yet is wide and stable for beginners. To be honest, the only thing I didn’t enjoy about the Body Glove was the name. It’s not very creative or catchy. Even with certain controversial features such as the fixed fins and extra wide waist, I couldn’t really detract any points from it.

However, if you can nab the Body Glover Performer 11 on sale — for instance, Body Glove’s Labor Day sale at 25% off, the price-to-value ratio turns into a very good deal. The fins on Body Glove boards prior to 2018 are quite rubbery and flexible and manufactured at a lower quality. Since 2018, the fins on Body Glove standup paddleboard models have been improved with sturdier, rigid plastic. The BG Performer has a unique shape for an all-around board with its pointy nose and wide center base. Usually, you will find this pointed style on racing boards with much thinner bodies. Having this pointed nose makes it easier for the paddler to cut through the water. This means that even newer, weaker paddlers can truly get out and enjoy themselves with little extra effort. I also like the bright yellow colour on the board. It really stands out on the water keeping you very visible to other watercraft.

Near the very front, you’ll find a bungee setup. You can use this cargo space to place a paddleboard cooler boxor bag. The bungees are built-in, saving you the time and headache of having to set it up yourself. I’ve made mention of the subtle design choices that litter this board. Each one benefits the Body Glove in one way or another. From the nose design that cuts through the choppy water with ease. To the wide waist that grants you plenty of stability.

This is a board that can be shared by adults and kids alike. It is specifically designed for families with added reinforcement in key areas to keep it strong and always ready to hit the water. This can become an issue for several reasons. First, should one of the fins break or receive damage of any kind, then that is it for your paddleboard. You won’t be able to swap them out and you’ll have to make do with a repair gear. Even then, there is some damage that no one can fix. If you can’t decide between paddleboarding and kayaking the good news is that you don’t have to. Body Glove has created four hybrid paddleboard kayak SUPYAK models that let you standup as well as sit down, so you’re able to enjoy the best of both worlds. The Porter SKX is 9.5 feet in length and, along with the 10.5 foot Dynamic model, seems to be the best SUPYAK option for anglers. The tri-fin design on this board with three smaller attached fins is typically seen more on whitewater SUP’s as opposed to on touring boards. Some key features of Body Glove standup paddleboards are a bumper under the nose of the board to protect it on beach landings, a GoPro mount, triple-layer side rails to strengthen and protect the edges and D-rings for gear attachment points. Body Glove paddleboards also have adjustable bungee tiedowns, an integrated towing clip at the front for unique towing capability, and carbon-reinforced stringers on the top and bottom of the boards to add strength and rigidity. In wind and waves however we found that the nose could easily get pushed sideways making us put in more effort to keep it on a straight course. We found the BG Performer to be quite fun on lakes and slower rivers. In fact, we found it very easy to use on most calm waters. We feel that beginners could take to it easily, because it is a fairly wide and stable board. We would only recommend using it on flat waters of lakes, calm rivers, or bays.

Speaking about its storage, the Body Glove Performer 11 will give you ample storage space so you can carry all the gears, accessories and tools for paddling along with you. Because of the stunning length and wide width of this SUP, you’ll enjoy good storage space. I’m going to use the next two sections to break down Performer 11. First, I’ll be starting off with the build and features that make up the body of Performer 11. What each part does and how that affects the ride of this fantastic board. Not all bags have side carry handles and we find them really useful for taking the bag in and out of the car. When I first unrolled the Performer 11, I was surprised at how light and supple it was. Because I’m a fairly stout guy — about 6’3″ and 225 lbs — I was worried it might not be stiff enough for good performance. I was wrong. Because Body Glove uses triple-layer side rails and lengthwise carbon stringers, the Performer 11 stiffens up nicely. All the accessories of this paddle board are covered by 90-days of the manufacturer’s warranty. What Is The Cost Of Body Glove Performer 11?

Stability:

Yes, you can take Body Glove Performer 11 for fishing and hunting activities. It comes with a 6-point bungee lacing system that will allow you to keep your fishing reels and gears. The board itself is made of heavy-duty, puncture-resistant PVC and has a three-layer center stringer with two-layer side rails. This adds to the durability of the board, which is a plus if children and pets will be joining in the fun. The grab handles are placed in comfortable areas and the center handle has a great non-slip grip. Underneath the family-friendly board is a long center fin that acts as the main driver of the Performer. Some kayaks even allow you to remove the kayak seat for extra storage space. But how well can a paddleboard accommodate your bring-along? Obviously, inflatable paddle boards will not be able to fit as much as a kayak can but the Body Glove at least provides you with a dedicated space with d-rings. We know this inflatable SUP is the introduction to the sport for many first-timers. It is this belief that inspires our design process and focus on delivering the best paddleboarding experience year after year,” says Luke Hopkins, professional champion paddler and Lead Designer for the Performer 11. “From the durable materials we source to its smart design features, our new Performer 11 helps people feel confident on the water and create memories that will last a lifetime.”
