About this deal

Baby Talk: Paprika speaks in primitive grammar when she was a baby. She started to speak in complete sentences as a toddler. Wynonna (played by herself) is Green Puppy's owner and Steve's friend; she and Green Puppy celebrate Christmas. Like most of Steve's live-action friends, she is only shown in one of the Christmas specials, "Blue's Big Holiday". Speaks Fluent Animal: Shovel and Pail are occasionally shown talking to (and understanding) non-anthropomorphic animals. And they were already able to talk to Gopher, before he was revealed to be able to talk. Break the Cutie: Although it ends with a happy ending, Blue's Big City Adventure was probably not the most pleasant experience for Josh, he discovered his painfully self-conscious side, was Mistaken for Insane, got lost in the city and almost lost his job opportunity, causing him to enter a temporary depressive state, almost making him give up on his dream if Mr. Salt didn't intervene with his plan.

Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs: Wynonna wears red clothes, Tyrese wears yellow clothes, and Sam wears an orange sweater, which is a mixture of the two colors. Red/Green Contrast: Marlee, Miranda and Wynonna who were associated with the color red while Steve wore the color green. They are also normally mature and extroverted while he is the friendly and timid manchild. Inexplicably Awesome: Even more than Blue, since her skidoo skills can be used more times in a shorter period of time, being able to use them even in other skidoo worlds and create multiple portals at same time. Josh even seems to question how she is able to do this. Messy Male, Fancy Female: In the original series, Miranda was an intelligent and elegant artist, while Steve was a timid goofy guy. Swirly Energy Thingy: What makes the skidoo express stand out from an ordinary bus are the swirls on his windows and front (making him look like a large skidoo portal) and the aura of swirls that he leaves behind before he skidoo.Adapted Out: This appears to be the case in the reboot, as any remakes of the original series' episodes that featured her have Magenta take her place. She is mentioned in a video on the show's YouTube channel that adapted "Blue's Big Holiday" from the original, but it's unknown if she'll ever make a proper appearance in the show. If she does she would be the last original character to return. Genki Girl: Even before her character development, Sidetable was already a lively girl, to the point that her Character Catchphrase is literally "I'm so excited.” After Blue's Big Musical Movie this side of her becomes more visible, with her becoming increasingly cheerful and expressive.

His Name Really Is "Barkeep": Her name is canonically Lola, which means grandma. Meaning her grandchildren are calling her grandma while other people are calling her by her name. Token Human: Previously, she was one of the only non-live action humans who didn't come from one of the skidoo worlds. In the reboot she loses this status because her species has been changed. Took a Level in Badass: Seems that playing Blue's Clues was pretty good investigative field training, since, after he graduated college, he opened his own Detective Agency by the time Blue's Clues & You! takes place. Big Little Brother: Younger than Steve by an unrevealed amount of years, Joe is taller by at least a few inches.

Hero of Another Story: "The Mystery of the Missing Pies" is revealed that not only he can talk, but also that he is a Private Detective, has a family, has his own version of Josh's Handy-Dandy Notebook and lives in a community of colorful Gophers. Somehow the adorable Gopher who occasionally trolled the hosts had a whole adventure story going on. Bully Bulldog: Averted. Green Puppy appears to be a bulldog and tends to play a little rougher compared to Blue or Magenta, but is otherwise very friendly. Consistent Clothing Style: Joe wears different shirts but they always have a pattern of three squares on them. Big Eater: He showed signs of this in the original series, but it is expanded upon in the reboot where in most of his appearances he is seen eating as his way of thinking is eating, implying that his usual absent behavior is a result of Hunger Causes Lethargy. Canine Confusion: She eats chocolate, is blue, and has a stamp-like paw, which doesn't apply to real dogs. Justified, since she's a book character come to life.

Shout-Out: She's essentially a repurposed version of "Mr. Orange", an orange cat that was originally going to be the titular character of the show before they decided on a blue dog. Remember the New Guy?: Despite not knowing how to play Blue's Clues until his debut episode, everyone at the house appears to already know him. The Short Guy with Glasses: The only one of the three hosts to wear glasses and also the shortest of the three (Steve Burns is 168 cm/5'6"). Character Catchphrase: "Blue's Clues, I'm so excited!". Lampshaded in the game Blue's Birthday Adventure. Paprika (voiced by Jenna Marie Castle as a baby and by Corrine Hoffman as a toddler in the original series and by Shechinah Mpumlwana in the reboot series from 2019 to 2020 and currently by Abigail Nicholson since 2020) is Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper's daughter. She first appears in "Blue's News". In the first three seasons, she is a baby and only speaks in incomplete sentences. She has an orange gummy teddy bear and sleeps in a crib made from a peanut. In the fourth season, Paprika becomes a toddler and prepares to be a responsible sibling after the announcement of Mrs. Pepper's second child. In the reboot series, she gets older and is now a preteen.Gentle Giant: Because he is an living bus, he is much larger than most of the characters in the series, he is also quite relaxed and friendly, being as excited as Blue about the prospect of Josh realizing his dream in New York. Beautiful Singing Voice: Blue's Big Musical Movie' shows that she's a very talented singer (which becomes a major part of her personality from that point on), and several characters comment on it. Everyone Is Christian at Christmas: Avoided. Although they were introduced in the Christmas-themed episode, it is made clear that neither Tyrese nor Sam (as well as the animals they care for) are Christians.
