I’m just comparing this with scanners that I have been using for the past year or so: the Canon MP150 and an Epson Perfection V350. My Nikon COOL SCAN V would only work with Windows 98 so it's been our of commission for quite a while.

Every thing about the scanner is great, speed, picture quality, options, easy to use, looks good, the only down fall is it does chew on paper sometimes and this causes it to "jam" apart from that, it's perfect for our office! If you're used to scanning using your favorite program's scan command, and you prefer scanning that way, you will likely find that the ScanSnap approach feels counterintuitive. In my tests, the scanner was a little faster than Fujitsu claims, scanning one side of a 25-page document (simplex mode) at 21. The time saved on filing and archiving is huge, provided you figure out a tight and descriptive file-naming system right from the start.

Added to this, you can just drag the scanned documents to your virtual filing cabinet, printer, fax, e-mail, DropBox, SkyDrive, Word, Excel. The scanner has fed every sheet that I could reasonably expect it to feed with just the occasional undetected multi-sheet pickup. Perhaps the AIOs and their sometimes complex settings and controls have added more hassle to a relatively straightforward task.

The Quick Menu choices include your printer, a folder (to save as a JPG or PDF file, depending on the current settings), e-mail (to launch a message and add the scanned document as an attachment), and a set of choices for Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.The trick is to create a shortcut in the software to your inbox folder so that you don't have to create duplicates of everything in the scansnap folder. only logistic data imported: we have only basic data imported from a supplier, a data-sheet is not yet created by an editor. From what I can tell, Scansnap installs in "C:\Program Files (x86)\PFU\ScanSnap" and Scansnap Manager accesses the executable in subfolder Driver > PfuSsMon.
