About this deal

Tots TV is a puppet show for children by Ragdoll Productions (creators of Teletubbies, Brum and Rosie & Jim) for Central Independent Television, which was broadcast between 1993 and 1998. The Rosie and Jim theme tune was instantly recognisable. Each episode would open with Rosie and Jim saying each other’s names in excitement before giving each other a kiss.

Rosie and Jim are two rag dolls who live on a narrowboat called the Ragdoll. The two rag dolls sit on the narrowboat with their concertina and only come alive when no one is looking. They spend their days learning about the different places they visit with the narrowboat owners along the rivers and canals. Characters Rosie Following the boat's redundancy from Ragdoll Productions, it is no longer on display to the public. Rosie and Jim are two rag dolls who live aboard a narrowboat called the Ragdoll, which is from Birmingham. There, they sit with a concertina on their lap and come alive when no one is looking to explore the world that they pass by on rivers and canals across England. Usually, they end up causing trouble, but they are never detected because no one ever sees them.

Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: In an episode about a steam boat, John is so distracted by an old-fashioned steam boat, that the Ragdoll boat drifts into weeds, and has to be towed free by the steamer. He also leaves the kettle on the hob, steaming up the inside of the cabin.

I wonder how that got there?"

Tropes:

Rosie and Jim (sometimes written as Rosie & Jim) is a British children's television programme produced by Ragdoll Productions and aired on ITV from 3rd September 1990 to 10th March 2000, and on PBS from 5 September 1992 to 31 March 2001. Sophie Aldred: Life on the Island of Sodor can be very busy, but the engines enjoy their work on the railway. Sometimes in the adventures Thomas has with his friends landed in trouble. Oh, Crap!: In "Automata", the duo play a game called Turning the Wheel while John rests his ears. First, the wheel stops at a feather, which sounds of nothing. Then, the wheel stops at a bunny toy that Rosie squeezes, making a loud squeaky sound, but not as loud as the last one, which was a drum! This trope was their reaction to the wheel stopping at that. Tilly speaks Gratuitous French ( Gratuitous Spanish in the American version), but understands English very well. She has a magic bag with her, which she likes to call a sac magique/ bolsa mágica. She is good at playing the piccolo. Not So Stoic: When Neil is startled or frightened by Rosie and Jim's antics, he becomes much more animated than John and Pat.

Neil Brewer was the longest owner and featured in 80 episodes from 1997 to 2000. Rosie & Jim called him Tootle. He was a musician who would always end each episode by playing a song on his concertina. Neil also featured in the Rosie and Jim tour in 1999 and 2000. Rosie and Jim Song Expository Theme Tune: "I'm a tot, Je suis une tot. Tilly, Tom, and Tiny, we're the Tots on Tots TV, one, two, three, BOO!" The Original Adventures of Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends - Percy and the Signal and Other Stories (1993 Re-Release) Rosie & Jim live on a narrow boat from Birmingham. Over the years, there are three different owners, each plays a role similar to their job in real life. Missed Him by That Much: The Tots, due to obliviousness or contrivance, never catch onto Furryboo's existence despite it living in the same house as them. They do sometimes see or hear its presence, but it is always obscured enough for them to never figure out its identity (eg. it moving underneath an object, convincing them it is alive or magic).Face Palm: In an episode about John wanting to go somewhere quiet, Rosie keeps banging a saucepan lid. Jim says Rosie can only come if she is quiet. Rosie says "OK", and drops her lid on the floor with a loud clatter, causing Jim to facepalm. Rosie and Jim are two rag dolls who live aboard a narrowboat called the Ragdoll, which is from Birmingham. There, they sit with a concertina on their lap and come alive when no one is looking to explore the world that they pass by on rivers and canals across England.
