The village was renamed cold Christmas after the events i don’t know what it was called before. The church which is only a tower now is nearly 900 years old appraently and was built 12th century. The church is actualy in Thundridge which is next to Cold Christmas village but everyone calls it Cold Christmas church anyway.
The original village of Thundridge was actually about half-a-mile to the east of the current village and close to the River Rib. The village name derives from an Old English word which means 'ridge belonging to the god Thunor or Thor'. Who was killed off in 2012's Downton Abbey's Christmas special cliffhanger? People were also warned not to use the church bells anymore in case it led to the whole building falling down.

It’s hard to know when these legends first began, but the church itself is a shadow of its former self. The main structure of it has long since been dismantled, leaving only the tower, but the surrounding gravestones remain. That said, please do not confuse recording folklore or legitimate attempts at studying reports of paranormal activity with Devil Worship, Occultism, or other such tomfoolery. I, myself, own a church I am in the process of restoring, and can understand frustraition with vandals. I can still recall the police officer explaining to me that bear traps were not the answer. As me and three mates walked towards the church we heard what sounded like drums, we thought it was weird, but we carried on to the tower. We arrived at the tower after nearly walking past it (it was the middle of the night) we all had a look around the grounds and we were disgusted with the state of the place, graffiti, empty gas canisters and completely over grown, such a shame.

I am convinced this is a case of matixing (for those of you who don't know, this is when we see faces etc. in images when really it is just a bunch of random shadows or the light shining at just the right angle making us see something that isn't really there) however, it would be interesting to see if anyone else has photographs of that particular window.
