Its a different story in some ways or it seems different to the original with the same premise, but this is just honest to God great acting as it follow the book and original closely. There’s a lot of pressure within the family when Amy has already married and Beth is not long for this world. Freckles, make-up, stubble, wrinkles, pores and quite a lot of facial information is quite clear as day.

Its a wonderful movement from Lady Bird and has opened up her showcasing of abilities to flaunt what ease she can do in terms of adaptation, scale and period aesthetic.
