This novel is brillant and tells the story on the side of the stepmother - destroyed emotional at a young age and aged in a tortured way. The tale of the young princess, Snow White, and her evil stepmother, the Wicked Queen, is widely known—the Queen was jealous of the girl’s beauty, and this jealousy culminated in the Queen’s attempt on the sweet, naive girl’s life. I didn't love the ending and some scenes were rather confusing, but overall I did enjoy what the author has done here. The evil stepmother in this retelling of “Snow White” starts life as a commoner who marries the king and becomes a loving mother to his little girl.The queen’s and Snow White’s likenesses to Disney characters are evident; most characters read White.

There's an implication that she isn't really in control, which I don't find any more satisfying than simple jealousy. Fairest of All: A Villains Graphic Novel is the graphic novel version of the 2009 book, Fairest of All: A Tale of the Wicked Queen, written by Serena Valentino.As such, I'm a fan of any tale that attempts to grant the Queen a sense of redemption or justification. It's deep Disney lore that she was at one point assigned the name Grimhilde, and I don't see why that name, or literally any other, wasn't used here. This “untold story” is fraught with modern themes of self-worth and appearance, hopefully showcasing how to fight the darkness and accept ourselves as we are. I found the backstory of the Queen to be interesting but I found it seemed to follow the same story as the original story.
