About this deal

The messy end (sorry bout bad photo quality), but you can see it is best to add the waterproof plugs soldered to the wires after they exit the controller.

What I usually see is kits with everything in except a battery, then you have to hunt down a battery to go with it and try to make sure it's got the light purple Samsung cells in it.I want to stick to the legal limit of 250W for a motor, not just because of the law but also because I want to get the most range I can from any battery I end up using. Then you have to make sure whatever male plug comes out of your controller box fits the female plug on your battery, but I guess it's all mostly standardized these days. I read that the Chinese sell motors labelled as 250W to stick to UK legal requirements, but they are often way more powerful like 400W! I feel that it will be very easy to build a good quality box, with all the features needed, for very little money!

For the avoidance of doubt, you will be responsible for obtaining such type approval, insurance, tax, registration and MOT. At fast road cycling speeds on the level you're in a zone where most of the work is against aerodynamic drag which is proportional to the square of speed so that power is proportional to the cube of speed. If you overvolt a motor most will take it, but optimal efficiency motor speeds will increase as well so you may make it less efficient at the speed you want to run it at most of the time. The Cycle to Work Scheme is a Government-backed initiative to encourage people to cycle to their place of work, and consequently reduce environmental pollution. Aluminum alloy controller shell can protect the inner circuit due to good heat dissipation feature to avoid thermal overloading.

A hub motor to doesn't care to a degree doesn't care what it sees voltage wise at less the 60v, though it will depend on the extent of current supplied to it. NOTE—Please check as much as possible to the item picture, model and size carefully before purchasing. The dual volt 36/48v controller looks very much like the excellent KT (Kuenteng) one, it will operate on 36 or 48v without issue including using both alternately. Electric Bike Conversions is registered with four of these schemes - Bike2Work, Cycle Scheme, Green Commute Initiative and CyclePlus. My KT is in a Alpkit frame/top tube under slung bag and gets warm esp in summer and like AK mentioned suffers thermal cut out so to prevent this I have fitted a pair of 5v micro fans on an additional finned heat sink and run the fans off a separate 2p 1s battery I welded with a 1s bms.

Yes the RPM is increased but then so is the battery usage - but if you're indeed going at a faster RPM, the mileage should just even out? This controller box is made of qualified plastic and metal material, firm, solid and durable to use.

Inside this KT 15 amp controller there are 7 x 50v caps, my guess is you would need to replace them all if you want to run at 48 v so it is just much easier to get a 48v controller instead. Furthermore, if some battery types get warm/hot (not good for any battery type as the answer above suggests), then possibly a small, cheap thermometer might be considered to be installed.I think if you moved your query to the ‘Electric Bikes’ section on the forum - or at least alerted them to your thread - you would get a more detailed reply. This controller box can give your e-bike controller a good protection, dust-proof and waterproof, a great accessory for your electric bicycles. There's front wheel motors, rear wheel, bottom bracket motors, then 24V/36V/48V/52V batteries at this Ah, that Ah, the other Ah, then there's all different controller boxes, whether you want a push button throttle or a twisty one, whether you want an LCD screen and how good you want it. Brushless motor controller can provide steady speed and sensitive control of braking and direction changes. I also read that as long as a 250W motor can be kept from overheating, you can push it (simply by using more Volts) to be effectively way more than 250W.
