Works in conjunction with your front facing Nextbase 512GW Dash Cam, with both cams recording at full 1080p HD at 30 fps. Please check that your Camviewer app is on the latest version available and that your phone has Wi-Fi turned on. This is a great product fairly simple to fit all you have to do is rout the cable from the front camera to the rear window. Fault:- when first power up after connecting 512 to rear cam then inserting 512 into windscreen mount is the PiP of rear view is just an outline. Along with its 3" screen making it easy to check what you're recording, 140-degree viewing angle and reflection free lens you can be sure that your dash cam won't miss a thing.You can then view footage using the Nextbase Replay 3 software, available for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows as well as for macOS. Recently took a motoring holiday and as the 512 quality is full HD the dash cam footage forms an integral part of the finished holiday video, and I uploaded the days clips each evening, and cleared the card before the next days clips. You do get an additional mini-USB for attaching a rear camera, although Nextbase currently doesn’t offer such a device in its range. How much better if you just plugged it all in, answered the "where do you want PiP to appear" and then got on with fastening seat belt etc knowing the unit would always start recording without further intervention. Again, decent enough quality for Full HD, but it’s a shame they don’t use the full resolution at which the 512GW is capable of shooting in video mode.

The rear camera image can be shown as a picture in picture or as a reversing camera (this is done by pressing the "mode" button whilst both cameras are recording).
