About this deal

What a cinematic world we live in, where superheroes have become our mythological Gods and allegories, and our best working filmmakers are using comic inspirations to tell wildly crowd-pleasing and entertaining stories. Couple that with the early trailer footage, 'The Avengers' looked like it was going to be a very expensive TV movie. Fan boys will rejoice at the careful and balanced handling of some of the most prolific comic book characters in history, and I'd wager many will come back for a second helping. Night sequences do flatten a bit compared to interiors and daytime sequences (mostly thanks to digital atmosphere effects), but black levels are inky -- not a hint of crush -- while shadow details remain impressive.

If the only showing available for Disney's "Avengers: Endgame" was in 3D, would you pay to see it or wait a week to watch it in 2D? This is demo-worthy material, certainly up there among the best tri-dimensional clips – and that includes those shot natively in 3D – we’ve seen. It's near flawless as far as audio presentations go, without it being too devilishly clever or cheeky, or trying out anything new. For more about The Avengers 3D and the The Avengers 3D Blu-ray release, see the The Avengers 3D Blu-ray Review published by Jeffrey Kauffman on September 20, 2012 where this Blu-ray release scored 4. As for textures, I have nothing but good things to say about this either, from the natural porous texture we see on close ups of Nick Fury and Tony Stark, to the incredibly detailed shaders used for the Hulk's skin texture, it's utterly mesmorizing. There's literally something for everyone in Joss Whedon's epic collaboration of superhero awesomeness. In summary, 'The Avengers' earns a full 5-stars for a reference quality Blu-ray presentation, while the 3D experience is a very strong 4-stars (4.

Sometimes you're only telling a story about one character, with easter egg connections tossed in for good fun.Again though, that grizzly 3D conversion spoils the platter with it's presence, dropping the sharpness levels and dimming the brightness, not to the point of it being unbearable, but close enough to be irritating.

There are still avid 3D fans, and if we don't offer it, we hear about it from our guests," Bagby said. The murkiness persisted for a while, although there were still some memorable pop-out moments, for example when the ever-so-delectable Agent Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) pointed a handgun at Dr Banner (Mark Ruffalo). Dimensionality is wonderful most of the time, like you're looking through your TV into another world. Take my advice folks, save yourself a few quid and stick to the 2D version (which is included of course! Having said all that, there's no unexpected issues with it other than it adds literally nothing at all. D. must act swiftly to form The Avengers, a team of superhero defenders, when Earth comes under attack from Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and his alien army.
