About this deal

It is easy to assemble with no tools required and when folded flat does not take a lot of space for easy storing or transporting. However, it’s still cheaper than the comparable Lakeland and is pretty sturdy given how light it is. They're popular in winter as it means households won't need to put the heating on just to try clothes.

Love Island All Stars viewers praise Sophie Piper for 'snitching' on scheming Georgia Steel during secret flirty chat with Tom Clare: 'He's gonna tell the villa! AMOS 230 Electric Clothes Dryer is energy efficient and can save you money compared to a tumble dryer. The advantages are that, since it doesn’t use a lithium battery, you can pack it in your carry-on luggage. Ideal for a couple or a small family, the winged heated clothes airier features 20 heated bars that can hold up to 10kg of wet washing and will dry items more quickly than a traditional airer. Thicker items like towels and heavier t-shirts took the longest, while lighter bits like sports bras and socks took far less. They have a larger middle section, which is good for bigger items such as jeans and bedding, but overall have less drying space than tower models. However, wet clothes draped on warm radiators can raise moisture levels in your house, creating ideal breeding conditions for mould spores. Running at 1,000 Watts, it also uses more energy than some other airers featured here, but it makes up for it in efficiency (and it’s very useful in the event that you’ve run out of emergency shirts). It won't cost you a penny, but with temperatures dipping as autumn hits, keep in mind that getting your load dry could take longer.

It is also much kinder to clothes than tumble drying and more efficient than laying laundry over your radiators. Some manufacturers claim it takes one hour for drying small and lightweight items such as thin t-shirts and socks and up to three hours for larger items such as denim. The three tiers are flat, which means you can either use each rack to fold over an item of clothing or, if you only have a few pieces to dry, you can lay them flat over an entire tier. Made by Homefront, mostly known for their electric blankets and heated throws, it heats up quickly and makes reasonably short work of shirts and T-shirts, reliably drying them in around four hours. This three-tiered electric airer provides up to 21 metres of space for drying your laundry and heats your clothes via 24 heated aluminium rails said to be capable of reaching up to 55 degrees celsius.

My colleague Debora Robertson swears by it as the best way of drying bras and Sally Hughes of laundry experts Kair recommends it to make delicates last longer. Instead of wrapping delicates in towels and balancing them precariously on the bathroom radiator, or hanging dresses up in the shower to drip-dry, an electric airer means you can just wring them out gently and lay them flat to dry. Another option for speeding the clothes-drying process is to run a portable dehumidifier in the same room. WE’RE all trying to save our pennies as much as possible this winter, and heated airers can be a great way to dry laundry for less.

Great for rainy days when the outside washing line is out of action, AMOS 230 Electric Clothes Dryer will dry items more quickly than a traditional laundry horse and prevent a buildup of allergens. If you want to read more expert-recommended round-ups and product guides, check out our Household page, where you’ll find more home recommendations, including the best energy efficient heaters, the best hooded blankets and the best draught excluders. The hourly cost of using a heated airer is approximately 7p per hour for 200W airers, 10p per hour for 300W airers, and 34p per hour for 1000W airers. I’ve set this up in my bathroom and use it for towels and to dry any excess laundry which can’t fit on my main dryer - usually underwear.
