There are some light marks to the page edges but otherwise in very good condition with pages crisp and clean. It’s also a nice touch that Gaiman lets us follow some of the mortals touched by the story – showing us the consequences of the actions taken in this brief spell.Dream decides they should travel like mortals and enlists the help of an immortal human-like person who works in transportation. When Coraline explores her new home, she steps through a door and into another house just like her own - except that it's different. It cleans up the plotlines hinted at throughout the first half of the series and sets in motion everything that follows.

The first long arc is a beautiful exploration of family ties and dynamics; why we mostly love them, sometimes hate them, but can never let go of them. But their journey through the Waking World has dramatic repercussions for their family and also for the relationship between the Sandman and his wayward son, Orpheus. Also included is the spectacular short story "Ramadan," a tale of a young king of ancient Baghdad and the deal he strikes with The Sandman to grant his city immortality, with spectacular illustrations by P.The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. Everything about this volume is wonderful, from the gorgeous and varying artwork, to Gaiman's masterful story-telling, weaving disparate threads into the finest tapestry. Even as early as Season of Mists he was hinting that Morpheus stood at a crossroads between his role and duties and the changes that he was facing.
