Ottogi Real Cheese Ramen is a cup of noodles that features “real” cheese flavor (whatever that means…), a mixture of macaroni with ramen noodles, and some spam like miniature meat slices.

Trust me on this, I tried using a carbon steel wok (because I had it out and I was too lazy to grab my non-stick pan) and what a sticky mess! Ottogi Real Cheese Ramen has the oozing cheesiness of carny cheese combined with the buttery smell of movie theater popcorn. Besides the cheese flavoring there was this packet of seasoning which should provide the main seasoning for the soup. The dehydrated veggies came with many of the things shown on the packaging but I couldn’t make anything out that looked like broccoli.

The cheese flavour was there, but not as rich as I expected it to be, as compared to when I first smelled the cheese powder seasoning. I closely inspected the label of this mysteriously named cup of noodles and found out that only ten percent of the actual cheese sauce is REAL! Despite my sadness in officially finding out the hard to swallow truth about the cheese sauce, Ottogi Real Cheese Ramen tastes artificial, albeit in a pleasant way. The particular brand I bought was the “Ottogi” brand which is also endorsed by (the good looking) Nichkhun of 2pm.
