About this deal

Yes, eco gels are good for your hair. They tame your flyaways and enhance your hair’s natural shine. But you must use eco gels cautiously as overusing them can turn your hair dry and brittle. Ecogel™ is compatible with surfactants. It is particularly interesting for a use in shampoos and shower gels since it increases viscosity and improves sensorial properties. Whether a detergent is 'eco-friendly' comes down to many factors, from the way it's made to how it's disposed of, and everything in between. In fact, according to Cold Water Saves, if your household switched to cold water washing for a year, you’d save enough energy to charge your iPhone over 30,000 times. How we test

Eco gel boosts your hair’s hydration level and improves its texture. This product helps properly define your beautiful curls while ensuring that your strands experience growth. I have used Ecogel to stabilise my natural creams in the past and I have been impressed by the skin feel and how it functioned as a stabiliser. I also worked with it as a stand alone emulsifier and at the time I think it had separated and I was not sure about the skin feel. I gave up on it sadly, however after having a chat with the guys over at Infinity Ingredients I decided to have another go at formulating with it. So what is Ecogel exactly? Lucas Meyer say ' Yes, definitely. Eco gel is great for curling hair as it can hold your curls and waves in place for longer. It also helps build curl definition and add the right amount of moisture to your tresses. If there is an oil phase this needs to be heated to a similar temperature and added after the period of hydration at which point high shear or rapid stirring needs to happen for approximately 3-4 minutes and then it needs moderate stirring whilst it is cooling. However, this is not always possible when hand crafting skincare. Possibly you could use a soup maker type appliance which has an in built stirrer and can provide a steady and consistent heat and stirring? If you want to protect the quality of your tresses, avoid using hair gels that contain mineral oil, petroleum jelly, sulfates, benzene, parabens, synthetic colors and dyes, and sodium hydroxide. Apart from this, hair gels that contain alcohol are usually not suggested as they remove moisture from the scalp and dry out the hair.

Ecogel needs to first be dispersed in the water phase and heated to 70-75c for around 20 minutes and stirred to allow for proper hydration.

The world of sustainable beauty has transformed over the last few years. No longer is being eco-friendlier seen as a niche need, but more of a pressing one, with a growing number of brands ranging from the mainstream to the more specialist consciously doing their bit to provide a greater choice of products that deliver both in terms of eco-credentials and performance. When it comes to formulas, it’s harder to define. There is legislation in place in the UK, for example, to ensure that ‘surfactants’ (the ingredients that make detergents bubbly) do biodegrade, albeit in very specific circumstances. Similarly, the quantity of phosphates allowed in laundry detergents is also limited by law. This means that some claims made by ‘eco’ products may be equally true of many products that don’t claim to be ‘eco-friendly’. From shampoo to soap, shower gel, period products & more, these sustainable essentials can help you go green for goodThanks to huge strides in development and formulation, it’s never been easier to make your beauty routine more eco-friendly. From shampoos to shower gels, soaps and cleansing bars, there is something for every need and bank balance. Small changes can make a big difference. Try these 20 swaps to reduce your carbon and plastic footprint. Yes. Eco gel can make your hair hard and crunchy if not used the right way. Always couple an eco gel with a moisturizing gel or hair care products like conditioners and hair masks to soften your tresses and remove buildup. Whichever detergent you buy, there are also more sustainable ways you can use it at home. Running your cycle at a lower temperature, for example, is a good start, as you’ll also be using less energy to wash your clothes.

Name Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, and Polyglyceryl-6 Caprylate, and Polyglyceryl-3 Palmitate and Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract To find the best eco-friendly laundry detergents on the market, we dirtied a pile of cotton and polycotton clothes with common household stains such as tea, mud and makeup.
