About this deal

If you currently exist within an established group, intermittently withdraw so that others talk about you and admire you more. Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this piercing work distils three thousand years of the history of power into forty-eight well-explicated laws. Law 19: When dealing with powerful people, you are bulletproof if your actions come from good intentions for everyone involved. Even the taking of a human life, murder, has circumstances under which it is not viewed as an evil act. As people are constantly trying to work out what others appear to be thinking, silence makes them feel uncomfortable.

Law: 26: Keep Your Hands Clean: You’ll inevitably make mistakes or need to take care of unpleasant problems. Once you master the art of working out what others want and using it to further your own plans, there will be no limits on what you can accomplish. I couldn't think of any "enemy" whom I would want to "crush", so I gave up reading it after a few chapters. Regardless, the distilled advice in this book is interesting, at times useful, but always important to understand - even if your only goal is to avoid undue manipulations by the powerful. In the book that People magazine proclaimed "beguiling" and "fascinating," Robert Greene and Joost Elffers have distilled three thousand years of the history of power into 48 essential laws by drawing from the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and Carl Von Clausewitz and also from the lives of figures ranging from Henry Kissinger to P.Dale Carnegie's famous How to Win Friends and Influence People is one of the most popular and best-selling psychology/self-help books of all time - and yet I doubt the same critics whose stomachs turn in the reading of this book would say the same of the former. the main reason i am giving it this rating is because i felt it was a bit too concise, the only regret i have is not reading the standard version. Another interesting part about the book is the use of historical tales, which makes the book intriguing. You can use it to intimidate and win, but if it becomes tarnished, you open yourself up to being vulnerable to attack.

Law 23: Concentrate Your Forces: Focus your resources and energies where you’ll have the most impact or get the most benefit. By observing which aspects of everyday life are most abhorred, you can conjure up fantasies that promise the opposite of peoples’ current realities and thus wield a phenomenal power. So I would want to conclude with a quote by the American guitarist, Jimi Hendrix- "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace". The 48 Laws of Power has also been mentioned in songs by UGK, Jay Z, Kanye West, Central Cee, MF DOOM, and Drake. However, don’t rely on your instincts to get an understanding of a person, and never trust appearances. If you manage to remove all of your opponent’s options, then they will have no choice but to bend to your will. Why, then, do they expect to find honesty and humanity in government, a congeries of institutions whose modus operandi consists of lying, cheating, stealing, and if need be, murdering those who resist? As Fight Mediocrity claims, this is the essential counterpart to Carnegie's book, yet to read that but I can well imagine that this claim is on point. It is very important to use your own judgement in applying these laws to attain success, to avoid hurting your conscience and the people around you.

If, however, you are more naturally charming than your master, it would be best to avoid working for them entirely. but there are some suggestions within these points and the rest of the points are vicious and can damage society.

If you find yourself acting timidly, you must root this out and replace it with acts of boldness instead. Pero realmente este contiene innumerables pasajes de historias antiguas que además de brindar apoyo para sustentar el argumento del autor, enriquecen la cultura general del lector. Never make the mistake of applying these directly in your sphere of influence for it's a guarantee that you will get the boot in no time. After all, they are likely to fill in the silences you leave, revealing more information about their own intentions and weaknesses.i liked the idea of this book and how it delivered the rules of power in an amoral point of view, which gives you the raw "rules" that you can use in your own way, which some people might see as extreme or psycho, but i personally enjoyed it.
