About this deal

These statements are often made by people who have not used nor compared each system in real-world conditions. Because if they had, they would understand that the settings we use on a Micro 4/3 camera can be quite different to those we would choose on a full frame camera when photographing any given scene. for professional use, we have achieved a stable center of gravity and a total length that remains unchanged during zooming. I had the 50-200 SWD and used it extensively to shoot kids soccer games, where it performed quite well.

I was shooting using two cameras, my Olympus OMD EM10 and my EM1 since these are the bodies I use the most in my work.

This product has been thoroughly tested by our team of photographers and we are happy to give a 6 month warranty as a result. Most subjects snapped-into focus more easily than before in Single AF modes, and upon examination the subjects were sharp at 100%.

Both focusing and zooming are fully internal, meaning the lens' optics adjust within the constraints of its outer barrel, so the length of the lens remains the same regardless of zoom and focus settings. The 40-150mm focal range (80-300mm equivalent in 35mm format) is perfectly suited to a wide range of professional photographic applications including; wildlife, portraiture, weddings, sports and even picking out smaller details when utilising with the minimum focus distance of 70cm across the entire focal range. Attempting nature photography at a very wide aperture can be risky and would generally be reserved for certain subjects in more predictable or creative conditions.

I'm currently on vacation with just my phone but I'll take a closer look when I get back to the computer. This is still a really good lens in terms of C-AF use, but there I did often see some hunting that slowed the “snap” down to a “slurp. Olympus likes to say how much smaller and lighter its lenses are than DSLR equivalents, and often cites comparisons with 70-200mm f2. One aspherical ED (extra-low dispersion) element, two aspherical elements, one Super ED element, three ED elements, and one HD element are featured within the optical design to minimize both spherical and chromatic aberrations, distortion, and color fringing throughout the zoom range while also contributing to overall image sharpness, clarity, and color accuracy.
