About this deal

May McFettridge stars in this hilarious comedy about the known and the unknown by a women who knew nothing in the first place. Gene Fitzpatrick, with his wonderfully warm personality making him a master storyteller and king of the one-liners, will tell tales of ‘The Vision’, his lovely long suffering wife and many other stories!

The You Must Be Joking tour 2018 involving Jimmy Cricket and three fellow Northern Ireland comedians has finished after eight shows in just three weeks. You wouldn’t believe it, we get 12 days to rehearse, and the final day is our dress rehearsal for an invited audience,” he said, adding some of the days are “13-hour long to really push it out”. May is, without doubt, a cultural icon - part of the Christmas furniture at the Grand Opera House, where she has given thousands of performances - and a regular on radio and TV, with her not-so-dulcet tones and comic put-downs. May already has a fantastic 30-year following for her work and we are proud that she has chosen us as the launch-pad for what we are certain will be a remarkable step into the opera world! Since making her pantomime debut in Robinson Crusoe in 1989 alongside comedian Jimmy Cricket, May has appeared with a galaxy of stars including Su Pollard, Linda Nolan, Britt Ekland, Lisa Riley and Zippy, George and Bungle. The set and costumes are a feast for the eyes and one of the biggest challenges for the panto dame is fitting in – and out – of the elaborate costumes.

And I actually still get nervous before every show, because it's always a unique audience - should it be a matinee in the middle of the week, or a Saturday night at Christmas Eve. A bronze bust of the buxom Belfast backstreet bombshell takes pride of place in the Grand Opera House. Mrs Cameron [Olivia Nash] is the perfect comedy companion to May’s antics in this fun filled night out. Sounds like he's been reading a lot of the management books; not so says he; I just want to keep doing what I love doing.Normally I go to the gym three days a week and they put me through whatever I have to go through, and then it just stopped. Joined by stars of stage and screen, May’s outspoken and hilarious one-liners never failed to reduce audiences to fits of laughter. George Jones introduces a night of the best of Northern Irish stand-ups for an evening of pure comedy heaven.
