I don’t have a big Italian family or a history of Sunday lunches and before 2 years ago, the extent of my Italian language skills was “ciao”. There is plenty of choice when travelling Italy with traditional pizzas, pastas, or calzones as big as the size of your head. Out of her class of mixed Italians and Americans at Università Roma Tre, one of her classmates was doing the project with her and asked us if she could invite one of her (cute) (single) friends over.

But I also have an Italian father, brother, uncles, cousins, husband, and now two sons, so I get why it’s easy to fall in love with Italian men. We gawped at Michelangelo’s David, and Boticelli’s Birth of Venus, and the crazily beautiful Duomo, crammed into the centre of the city. Italians are naturally warm and enthusiastic, always ready to engage in a heartfelt conversation or offer assistance.

With my newfound knowledge of bus travel, I took one up to the famous viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo. She loved Prague, so she went to several places promoted as "the next Prague" or as being "similar" (like Budapest).This small cove has powdery white sand, small sand dunes, incredibly shallow, clear waters and a forest with Mediterranean pines singing cicadas who entertained me throughout the day. It is also quite common to swim in this Lake and if you visit, you absolutely must visit the charming town of Sirmione.

One of the reasons food in Italy is so good is that it still reflects the region in which it is grown and eaten. You've ventured beyond Italy and you could find another place you love if you keep experimenting, but no need to deprive yourself of what you already love.
