Simz worked with longtime collaborators Inflo (for production) and Cleo Sol (for background vocals) to create this project. The artist has said before she pushed through something of a crisis to get the record finished and that always shines through, but only to the betterment of the results.

Sleek and punky in its musical disposition, it sees Simbi engage with spirituality as well as her experiences in the music industry on a compound of hip-hop, gospel, soul, funk and electronica.year old Simbiatu Ajikawo aka Little Simz had a breakout year in 2022 that saw her complete a sold out tour and win some big awards (Mercury Music Prize, Mobo, Ivor Novello and Brit) as well as the public's affections.

Recorded with her regular collaborator Inflo, this is Simz at her most free, daring and spontaneous. She takes a bold left turn here with 'No Thank Yowl, an album of defiant punk rock that is sleek and dynamic and serves as a "two-fingered salute to conformity and fame". Although it came out digitally at the end of last year, the physical release was this year - and that’s what we’re here to celebrate as we couldn’t let her 4th full-length offering go without proper acknowledgement. Two years later we made the move to our present address, 35 The Headrow, where we have remained ever since.Another standout for me has to be “Heart on Fire”, you can feel the atmosphere building like a rising in your chest, it’s evident that this soulful music comes from the heart.
