The Leviathan Cross symbol consists of an infinity sign at the bottom and a double cross at the top, representing balance, protection, free choice, individualism, and a mockery of the Christian cross. The enormous size of the Leviathan is described by Johanan bar Nappaha, from whom proceeded nearly all the aggadot concerning this monster: "Once we went in a ship and saw a fish which put his head out of the water. This creature, which reveals no end and no beginning, is taken to be the sign of the unending nature of the soul and the universe, tying it to the concepts of rebirth and resurrection.

In alchemy, the Leviathan Cross represents the symbol for sulfur — and that is considered one of the three main essential elements of nature.The pentacle is a well recognized symbol that has been used (and still is) within many religious practices.
