About this deal

It uses the same quantum dot technology, which means it displays a wide range of colors and has remarkable pre-calibration accuracy, so you won't have to get it calibrated to get accurate colors.

White balance and most colors are only a bit inaccurate, and the color temperature is close to the 6500K target. To try to better understand how long a TV should last, we're running 100 TVs through an accelerated longevity test for the next two years. The U6N, U7N, and U8N all feature Mini LED backlights, and they advertise their flagship U8N to reach over 3,000 cd/m² with double the dimming zones compared to last year's Hisense U8K. We’ve seen plenty of Hisense TVs in the UK, but this is the first one to feature the Roku TV operating system, found on Roku-made streamers and a smattering of TVs in various territories. The manufacturer advertises the R6090G to offer multiple stand positions, while the R6 has a fixed stand position. If the item was originally delivered by Initial City Link / DPD / Specialist courier, Electrical-Deals will arrange a FOC collection at your choice of UK Mainland address. It's one of the few options in Hisense's lineup that comes with Roku TV instead of the Android TV found on most of their models. However, it has narrow viewing angles, and the image may look washed out at the sides if you sit too close. We barely noticed any video noise or artefacts, though, aside from some minor issues with motion smoothing.

Like the Hisense H6510G, the Hisense R6090G has an okay color gamut, but it's not considered a wide color gamut for HDR content. Like other Hisense TVs, it comes with a VA panel with deep blacks, but its local dimming feature is sub-par, struggling to keep up with fast-moving objects. On the plus side, the A7200G’s audio never sounds distressed, even when it’s playing at what passes for high volumes. There's another Hisense TV that's similar to this one, known as the Hisense R6G or simply the Hisense R6.The Hisense has better contrast, better out-of-the-box color accuracy, displays native 4k content perfectly, and has lower input lag. It maintains its brightness extremely consistent across different content, except small highlights are slightly less bright. Any remaining inaccuracies can't be spotted with the aid of a colorimeter, and the color temperature is almost spot on with the 6500K target.

Most notably, this model doesn't have local dimming to enhance its contrast and is dimmer than the more expensive alternative. My main TV is a Panasonic OLED which is superb - amazing picture, great sound, looks and feels expensive. Hitting the asterix (*) button on the remote during TV viewing will bring up sound and picture settings in a neat sidebar that doesn’t interrupt the action on-screen – we’ll run through the specifics of those settings in the sections below. Really, the best you can hope for is a bit of discretion – and, happily, that’s just what Hisense has delivered. The R6E3 model is available in a 43-inch, 50-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch size; however, we aren't sure which retailers carry them. There's a bit of overshoot in dark transitions, so you may notice some motion artifacts in dark scenes as well. There's minimal distortion at moderate listening levels, and even though it slightly increases at its max volume, most people won't hear it and it depends on the volume. The EOTF follows the target curve fairly well until the roll off at its peak brightness, except some scenes are slightly over-brightened. It’s a testament to how much HDR capability can improve in a mere year, and also to what Hisense has achieved with its first Roku TV for the UK.
