When I first read Booby Moon , I loved the tone and the idea but wondered if the mythological aspect would be right for me when it came time to wean my almost two-year-old.

It helped us through something I was very apprehensive about, and made the experience something positive for my son. Even though we’re not officially weaning yet, he’s fascinated by the idea that the toddler in Booby Moon doesn’t need milk anymore, and I can see it’s a first step towards laying the foundations. He still asked for it occasionally but whenever he did we reminded him of how we had let it go and there were no complaints, no pleading, no tears.The ritual aspect of the Booby Moon process helps mother and toddler find an easeful acceptance for Booby Milk going away – with the child seeing the magic leave with their own eyes. A chance to celebrate a milestone reached, honour the journey thus far and acknowledge this special time for both mother and child. Using the 'Booby Moon' story was such an easy and beautiful experience that it needs to be shared with parents around the world.

This is a beautifully illustrated book about weaning which helps your little ones prepare to move off of breast milk and onto food. The author includes very detailed information in the back of the book with suggestions on how to go about the process.

I'll admit, while I was excited to give reading the book a go, I had a healthy amount of skepticism about how much it would help.
