I am currently finishing up my fourth novel, entitled “Bartians”, about the queer Southern experience. As “a former Disney executive”—Katzenberg, presumably—told Masters, Eisner, lying in his hospital bed, “couldn’t wait for his best friend to take a tinkle so he could screw him. In November of 2017, former Disney staff employee Kevin Snow published a "gonzo journalism" manuscript, in which he fictionalized Disney's strangely sexual corporate culture and his own victimization by former executive Gregory Gunter.

As time goes on, the number of escapees will only increase and I can tell you, it is an underserved market. Because of our cut and sew process some print elements on pockets seams and sleeves might not match up.

Her book is a group profile of the rise, across a quarter-century, of Eisner, who became the Walt Disney Company’s mighty chairman; Katzenberg, who served as Eisner’s deputy at Paramount Pictures and then at Disney; Barry Diller, who worked with Eisner at ABC, was his boss at Paramount, and then ran Twentieth Century Fox; and Michael Ovitz, who as the head of the Creative Artists Agency wooed and cudgelled all the others. Learn how to control your own nervous system and the whole universe is yours; that’s the transmutation the alchemists were working for. At this juncture, there may not be enough for just a HKG only (though I may be wrong), but there is a growing diaspora with a need.

Now I know this isn’t “art” related–well, I guess in a way it is–but I recently did my first preservation! At the book’s close, which Masters caps with a knifelike parenthesis, she imagines Eisner serenely surveying the empty landscape, feeling unassailable: “He knew who his friends were. Perhaps the most treacherous incident Masters describes occurred when Ovitz went to visit Eisner in the hospital in 1994, after he had undergone emergency quadruple-bypass surgery but before he broke with Katzenberg. Eisner, for his part, wrote folksy letters to Disney shareholders about his son’s Pee Wee hockey games but had a private lexicon that would make David Mamet blanch.Eisner and Katzenberg hated the fact that moviemaking was such a messy, unpredictable business, beset with personnel problems. Additionally, while I was at Disney, I worked on the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, and I thought writing the novel in a gonzo journalism style would be a nice homage to Hunter Thompson’s gonzo legacy.
