About this deal

I don't have a very sophisticated nose, having only recently come into the fragrance world, but I do pick up a little bit of the Cyprus, Patchouli, and Incense. those were the disgusted words of my girlfriend when I held this masterpiece on my wrist under her nose. If and when the the production/manufacturing problem is fixed - it would be a very unique and excellent dark, cannabis leaning (a-la Black Afgano) smell for men. Personally, I like even L'extreme even better than the EN EdT, because it has more Bums and lasts longer. Encre Noire a L'extreme does a pretty good job of Sycomore, at first, and works very well for the first two hours or so.

Projection, longevity on my skin was exactly as you can find in many of the reviews, but suddenly the perfume started to underperform? All this said, the oud note is going to make this very polarizing for some, especially in North America. However the closer i’d move my nose to the sprayed part the more i could detect an annoying penetrating synthetic note that’d give a slight dizziness/headache.Never, I thought at first, will I become a friend of "black ink": too crass, too earthy, too one-dimensional, too unsuitable for everyday use, so my fears. While to my nose, Encre Noire Sport felt like sitting in a saw mill filled with freshly cut, dry lumber, the woods in this flanker feel somewhat damp, and give the scent a sense of darkness that I'd most likely associate with a grey sky, chilly/cold weather and a bit of wind. So the scent profile isnt anything amazing, its a realistic woody smell, "decorated" with some bergamot and incense that add a bit of sweetness (that in no way makes it a sweet fragrance though, its just an addition to make the fragrance a bit more bearable). The first hour you get nice projection then it goes close to the skin and later on kind of comes back for some reason, which is odd but cool too.

I’m always reticent if something is targeted at men because the traditional masculine style isn’t my style The good thing about niche/indie and even the boutique collections of the big brands, is that they are not divided by gender. It’d make a good choice for those who want an alternative to the sugary confections filling up the shelves in the high street. Then, when it begins to develop, the hard core of Encre Noir begins to surface with its cypress, vetiver and cashmir core.

Parfum (fragrance), Aqua (water), Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Tris(tetramethylhydroxypiperidinol) Citrate, Alcohol, Bht, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool, Isoeugenol, Geraniol, Benzyl Benzoate, Citral, Coumarin, Ci 14700 (red 4), Ci 19140 (yellow 5), Ci 17200 (red 33), Ci 60730 (ext Violet 2). The vetiver and the deep woods' intensity are unlike anything I've ever felt; they immerse you in the night's mysteries and its seductive darkness. Would be a perfect compliment to being suited up and out for the evening, as it has a touch of class about it and wears close as it’s an eau de parfum.Being bright and somewhat citric (lemony), the resin here also imparts what I experience as a slight metallic characteristic. Both are of course valid ingredients, but together they create a discordant cacophony of sensations which is altogether unnerving. Without having the original, the two flankers "Sport" and "À LÈxtreme" (ENE) have become my absolute favourite fragrances. I don't even experiment with this one because I have zero use for dead-flat Vetiver and soapy-sappy Cypress in any fragrance I make.

Vetiver is a note hard to describe, and rare enough that its hard to draw similarities to other fragrances. I think that encapsulates A l'Extreme's uses: as a novelty which effortlessly evokes the image of death and decay. The very best piece of wood in my collection, - so noble, so elegant and beautiful, this fragrance is a masterpiece. com perfumes magazine - All Rights Reserved - do not copy anything without prior written permission.

The new fragrance is based on two outstanding qualities of vetyver, one from Haiti, the other from Java. Lalique Encre Noire A L’Extreme is a captivating, powerful fragrance of cypress, incense and sandalwood. And I know that's probably not a popular opinion, but it's just that: my opinion, so take it for what it's worth (not much). I spent the better part of a day trying to figure out why some people say it smells like death, or it's medicinal, or just plain offensive.
