About this deal

Leth and Rausch are both huge fans of Tim Burton’s work, and loved the movie, so it’s great to know that this comic has come from talented fans that know and care about the character and his world really well. The ending of the film may have been rather sad, but fans certainly would have wanted his life to be more hopeful and less lonely than what IDW's Edward Scissorhands revealed following the end of the film's credits. Personally I loved that this graphic novel offered a different spin on the world of Edward and brought new life to the character so many fans love. Getting lost in a book is escapism at it's finest and it's what everyone who contributes here thrives on.

With reference to the original film the illustrations had a bit of a Burton-esque feel to them and I really felt that Drew Rausch’s style was perfectly suited to this quirky project. Not only has Edward been alone long enough for Kim to pass away and her own daughter to grow up, he has also been labeled as a murderer by the town ever since Edward and Jim were said to be dead. La solitudine porta Edward ad attivare un altro robot prodotto dal suo creatore, ma ne seguono soltanto nuovi guai.As their neighbors are curious about the new houseguest, the Boggs throw a neighborhood barbecue welcoming him.

Young Adult Post author: Erin Back in 2012 Erin teamed up with Ria to create Blogger's Bookshelf after rediscovering her love of books and hasn't looked back since. He also has to regain the trust of the world around him despite not actually being an evil, murderous person. She's fascinated by the stories her grandmother told her about Edward, even though her own mother insists that they're not true.In the film, Kim leaves Edward and tells her neighbors that he and Jim, her ex-boyfriend, killed each other. When we are reintroduced to Edward, it is through the curiosity of Megan Boggs, Kim’s granddaughter.

I’m looking forward to read the next one and see what happens now that Megan and her mom have proven, again, that Edward is harmless. Selections from the score were used in the trailers for other films including The Secret Garden (1993), The Indian in the Cupboard (1995), The Master of Disguise (2002), The Ladykillers (2004), Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004) and two other Tim Burton films: The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) and Big Fish (2003). I did however feel like the story could have been padded out a little more, although I understand that this isn’t always easy with the format of a graphic novel. Amy Dawes of Variety spoke highly of the film, "Director [Burton] takes a character as wildly unlikely as a boy whose arms end in pruning shears, and makes him the center of a delightful and delicate comic fable. The story of this title takes place a few years after the ending of the movie, having Kim’s grand-daughter, Megan, as one of the main characters. But this is volume one, so maybe it isn't quite as neatly resolved as it seems from the last issue in this volume.
