Made using traditional gin botanicals combined with a delicate array of island botanicals including lemon balm, meadowsweet, wild water mint, heather flowers, bog myrtle and sea buckthorn. The botanist recipe was forged in 2010 with island botanical experts and foragers coming together to create a harmonious gin, which has had the same great flavour ever since! Curator’s Gin is a rarefied expression of the secret treasures of Cambridge University Botanic Garden. The Botanist is an artisanal hand-crafted and distilled gin made at Bruichladdich distillery on the Scottish island of Islay. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. They say it's smooth, very drinkable, and perfect for drinking on its own or with a good quality tonic. This richly complex gin is a collaboration with and a true celebration of the University of Oxford’s extraordinary Botanic Garden – the oldest of its kind in the country.Eschewing pesticides and chemical fertilisers all of our crops are grown sustainably, contributing to an abundance of wildflowers, insects and birds across our farms. Sweet notes of juniper and bay are prominent, with botanicals like wormwood, rue and sweet woodruff bringing a deeply complex flavour.
