The rewards I have had are wonderful, but actually, what I remember more, will be the thing that someone said ten or twenty years ago even, where they said they didn’t think something I had done was very good, or it didn’t work for them. It has really just been an opportunity to look at a show that we designed 20-odd years ago and was great to decide how we can do some things better.

We’re not trying to make them pretty and white, we’re trying to make them seem like a bunch of savages! Getting the moment right is somehow more important than getting a particular costume, or a particular piece of set, right.This, along with Superman interfering with his criminal agenda and openly disrespecting Luthor in front of the media, motivates Lex to humiliate and destroy the alien hero. During the battle, Luthor releases an energy salvo that accidentally overloads the Neutrarod, resulting in the complete destruction of the planet Lexor and all its inhabitants, including Ardora and Lex Jr. All three villains were defeated by Superman of Earth-One, Superman of Earth-Two, and Lex Luthor of Earth-Three. And during those early meetings we throw ideas around until there is something that both of us can relate to and understand, admire, like and love. This incarnation of Lex Luthor met his end in the non-canonical two-part story " Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?

Dylan Batdorff who moves the show every week whilst on tour has been working with the company for 18 or 19 years. The suit vanished in 1986 after Crisis on Infinite Earths rebooted DC Comics continuity, but was reintroduced in 2004, now said to be built with a combination of Earth and alien technology (including tech from the other-dimensional world Apokolips) and armed with different forms of kryptonite in the gauntlet. With Cinderella Matthew was keen from the outset not to do a ‘fairytale’ version, but to do a version set in the Second World War, and so that was the starting point for everything. In the end, Luthor becomes a prisoner in his own body, unable to move or even blink, internally swearing vengeance on Superman.There’s a refining of it and a sophistication in it now that wasn’t there before, and also, we’ve learnt a lot during these past 23 years and we’ve moved on. You’ve got to feel comfortable enough to be able to make suggestions that may be stupid, or laughable, and may be thrown out; because even if it is a terrible idea it may lead to something else. The character's abrupt hair loss has been made reference to several times over the course of his history. For the last 10 years, the show has been leased to another company so I am really pleased to now have the opportunity to ‘get hold’ of the company’s flagship show once again and to remake a lot of the things. Satisfied at the hero's performance, Luthor attempts to hire him, admitting he knew about the incoming attack and allowed it to occur so he could see how Superman responded (assuming that the Man of Steel would arrive in time).
