About this deal

Minimal painting effort on top of the material will make it look great (and help differentiate it from others who have used the same material). The process is surprisingly like ‘painting the base’ and so does not differ from the other techniques you need to learn as a beginner. The GW version of booth agrellan versions is not that far from each other, if you look past that I got a bit too much texture on my badland version. Please note our Royal Mail service is not tracked, and if you require tracking for your parcel, you should choose UPS at checkout.

But, any dental instrument or the sculpting tools from other brands like Army Painter work fine, too, and may be more affordable. The „modelling sybarites” among us who find great fun in the process of modelling itself and would appreciate playing with a new kind of material. Whether you're a hobbyist lOOking to add extra depth to your collection or a professional painter aiming to showcase your skills, these paints will help you achieve stunning results.

Astrogra nite Debris technical paint applied as a base texture, followed by subsequent drybrushing (for highlights) and darkening washes to adjust the shade. Explore the various paints and effects, experiment with different techniques, and bring your miniatures to life like never before. We will resolve the issue by sending you replacement items or parts wherever we can and prefer to do this rather than provide a refund. A beginning painter might not know this, making their representation quite far from how the base actually looks.

The main attraction of 40k is the miniatures, but there are also many video games, board games, books, ect. Both versions can be drybrushed, but with booth earth version you will notice some of the texture coming off. This is somewhat of a surprise since every other ‘snow effect’ texture or powder I have used has been a big hassle. I find many other basing materials to be quite messy, but this feels just like painting the base and not like basing. The Citadel Technical paint range has been designed to help painters achieve a range of paint effects on their miniatures. You can, in-principle, apply them as you would normal paint (though they are more like a thick paste), allow it to dry, and expect it to last a long time. Imagine using it to depict a dry, barren landscape, an arid wasteland, or the cracked ground of a desert. I use these images to comment on how the picture is different from what the paint will look in the real world straight out of the pot. Because it’s flexible, you’ll have a much easier time working the technical paint into hard to fit areas.

Simply shake the paint pot, apply it to the desired areas of your miniature using a brush or sponge, and let it dry. It’s a water-based formula that’s easy to use and can be applied over white or other colors for eye-catching results. There are also some weird white specs that look like sand corn in my version, making it more likely that my pot is a failed version. The plastic tool will flex when you apply pressure which also makes it easier to flatten bumps in the paste and create a smooth, even surface. Stirland Mud: If you’re aiming to replicate the look of mud, soil, or dirt on your miniatures, Stirland Mud is the ideal choice. I have some bases I did when these paints first came out years ago, and they are still going strong. Whether you want to depict a muddy battlefield, a farmyard, or a rustic countryside, Stirland Mud can help bring your miniature to life.
