About this deal

I personally would like to know where the mum of two young children finds the time of day to do this?

These two Amateur Detectives succeed where the Police have failed, finding lead after lead that the Detectives have apparently missed! This is an addictive thriller packed with secrets and lies with a twist that will knock you sideways. After the police are somewhat dismissive of their concerns, Tim and Mary set out to investigate on their own. Ultimately I found the ending unsatisfying and I don’t think it made much sense in terms of the story up to that point. In the heat of summer in a London suburb, Mary can’t sleep because her new born and toddler won’t let her. I didn’t really connect with any of the characters, and nothing about the storyline had me gripped, which is a shame as it started out so well.

These two are separately looking out the window one night and think they see something sinister occurring in one of the (abandoned) homes across the street. I didn't agree with some developments in the book as they seem a bit artificial to me, but in general, this book is worth reading and I recommend it to everybody who loves a nice investigative detective. The author did a really great job of setting the witching hour scene and anybody who finds themselves awake through the night will really empathise with the characters. Her narrative at the start was a bit much and seemed more like a chaotic day in the life of rather than the mystery of Samantha Ellis. When Mary goes outside to investigate, she runs into another neighbor, fellow insomniac, and investigative journalist, Tim.Although the characters were irksome, they were representative of what law enforcement deals with on a regular basis…people (witnesses) who think they know more than they really do! To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Coincidentally, there is a missing 19-year old woman from their town, and they can’t help but wonder if that’s who they saw in the window of the house. I wasn't invested in any of the characters and didn't care what happened in that house, I just wanted them to find out something! are almost sure you DID see something that could shed some light into the disappearance of a young woman?

taking a bite of the juiciest, cheesiest, creamiest mac n cheese but the aftertaste is kraft dinner dry ass powder. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Neither are sleeping and when they run into each other in a park in the middle of the night, they both think they see a local girl who has been missing, in the abandon house nearby. Her two young children never let her rest, so one exhausting night, in the middle of a London heatwave, she escapes to a nearby park for some air. You could easily criticize Mary for neglecting her children, but I thought it just added to character development.

The personal lives of the protagonists could have been explored more — and the domestic nature of the disappearance was a bit OTT. This is a wickedly clever premise that features a mother of two (Mary) who is on maternity leave and of course like every mother needs a good night's Sleep. And as the pair are drawn into a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse, the culprit appears to be even closer to home than they thought. Reading about breast feeding, crying children, food being thrown, and dirty nappys always bores me to tears as a woman who is childless by choice.I guess i thought it would be more based around the friendship between the neighbors and their insomnia. As I mentioned above, there are some very amusing scenes in this book, and I think it would have benefited if it just embraced the humorous aspects of what silly things the characters were doing here and there.
