The counter-balanced design is intended for regular use and includes a safety lock to prevent accidental deployment. The spring lift mechanism is the only one available in King size, it is also the only one available in the DIY option. This safety feature is one of the things that makes it great for time shares, hotels and other locations where unsupervised users may attempt to open the bed. Please note: wall bed frames and mechanisms are illustrated with cabinets and doors (purchased separately) for demonstration purposes only. If you’re handy with some basic tools, you can install our beds and cabinets in around an hour each.

I also made sure that the metal frame was centered as per the instructions – this may vary depending on the kit you use. I had this bed installed into a custom recess with power and shelving to the sides - opening the double doors the bed pops out fully made up and ready to use - it's a bedroom in an integrated cupboard!
