About this deal

Here’s a closer look at the sticker sheet which includes the doors for all three “houses”, the Black Family Tapestry, 5 portraits, a Gryffindor plaque, blanket and a red velvet curtain. I absolutely love how DH Part 1 rendered the trio's mission to infiltrate the Ministry of Magic - it's probably my favourite sequence in the film - but I doubt many people were jonesing for a Mary Cattermole Minifigure, and one on which LEGO has lavished a leg print to boot.

It’s not really obvious at this point what the best grip for those actions is, but there’s a bit of cleverness coming later for that! The hairpiece chosen for Hermione's disguise, Mafalda Hopkirk, also it's right and the "bride" hairpiece should have been used as it's almost a prefect match apart from the front part going the wrong way. Nymphadora Tonks comes with a red hairpiece for she gets angry and her alternate print shows her metamorphing her nose. While the front had three different houses (numbers 11-13), the inside all covers scenes from 12 Grimmauld Place.

With Bag 6 and 7 we build the first and second floors of numbers 13 and 11 respectively, details on the interior include bedrooms and a room with Sirius Black’s family-tree tapestry. But it does look cool and for me at least, it is tempting to get another one to supersize it – similar to what I did with the Beauxbatons’ Carriage. Speaking of Yaxley, his Minifigure has one of the several details across this lineup that let it down a little, being his reused face print with eyebrows that contrast too heavily with his exclusively recoloured hair.Medium nougat dominates the upper levels and the brick texture changes between the ground floor and those above. As you may remember (spoiler alert), Regulus found the Slytherin Locket in the cave, but was unable to destroy the locket. Its colour scheme is also more suited to being a parts pack, for AFOLs that like earthy and grey tones anyway. I dislike this combination of green shades and yellow stripes, although the gaudy design corresponds with the movie!

It would have been better with a printed hat too, as we had it in the CMF series 2, which is the only previous release of Kingsley. This room also contains another instance of a set suggesting you pop something off to play with alongside the actual set, being the little stove build.
