Similarly with the world of Sinclair Prep, my desire to do the best that I can—and be at the top of my class—was exacerbated by everyone else around my chasing after the same thing. However, I did really like the Tip Tap posts at the beginning of each chapter, since they framed the events nicely. It’s is a dark academia about the pressures on high-achieving children of immigrants, and the lengths they’re go to meet the expectations. Horrible, twisted misdeeds, for the chance to have everything, everything this school had promised us.Nancy is even more shocked when word starts to spread that she and her friends--Krystal, Akil, and Alexander--are the prime suspects, thanks to "the Proctor," someone anonymously incriminating them via the school’s social media app. Her mom was the maid for the Ruan family so Nancy always envied Jamie’s power and wealth – but was that enough to be a motive for her to kill her? I think this book will appeal to a lot of people who like dark academia with all the scandals taking place at Sinclair Prep, it definitely is a story that keeps you on your toes. I liked how Nancy felt anger about that, knowing how hard her parents worked to put her through school. How We Fall Apart is a look into Asian students at Sinclair Prep, trying to stay on top of the pack with perfect grades.
