In short, neither the PS4 or Xbox One is able to hold a steady frame rate, and they often freeze altogether for seconds at a time. One of the more substantial updates to the game even allows you to rent multiple apartments throughout the city (and receive small buffs for using certain facilities in those apartments). Based on reading reviews of the original Cyberpunk 2077and comparing it to my experience of completing the new Cyberpunk 2077 over the past few days, it seems that a key difference between pre- and post-1. Whenever a game is released on PC, you can always count on the community to do what the developers won't (or in most cases can't) and mod it in every way imaginable.

Assume the role of V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality.Looking to earn some extra money or simply want to never run out of ammo or upgrade components ever again? However, the created-character nature of V, and the various backgrounds that V can be from (like a Nomad or a Corporate stooge) give Cyberpunk 2077 more of a Mass Effect vibe. One of the big hopes that I, and many others, had for Cyberpunk 2077 rested in how it might approach storytelling in its science-fictional universe.

There are a few features that the community has been talking a lot about, and that’s a core part of this update – listening to the community and adding cool stuff that just makes the experience more fun, more engaging, and more personal. Xbox Series X runs the game with a ray-tracing mode at 30 FPS while a Performance mode bumps the frame rate to 60 FPS. Equip your weapon, and get ready to rumble, picking up the weapons and gear that they drop along the way. While I had just as much fun playing Cyberpunk 2077 on PC as Tom did playing for his review, on the base PlayStation 4 or Xbox One it is a different game entirely.

However, those major technical issues that once plagued the game are pretty much gone on next-gen consoles. At best it will regularly crash to the system screen on Xbox One; at worst it’ll hard-lock your system and you have to turn it off and on again.

With the Edgerunners Update, we’ve made this a real celebration of both the Cyberpunk 2077 anime and our community. What isn’t traditional is a game coming out that looks and performs as poorly as this one at launch.While the console versions of Cyberpunk 2077 are much better than they once were, the PC version of the game is still the best way to experience the game. It fails to hit even the lowest bar of technical quality one should expect even when playing on lower-end hardware. It performs so poorly that it makes combat, driving, and what is otherwise a master craft of storytelling legitimately difficult to look at.
