Many doll lovers (myself included) are growing tired of oversized eyes and heads, but it's hard to deny that Alia has a ton of character and her own strange, stylized appeal. There's plenty of rainbow homeware too, with character-adorned duvet sets, plush cushions and wall clocks to decorate her room with. I’m so glad to see a reduction in the packaging; over packaging bothers me more and more—just as much as all those blasted plastic ties that seem to be everywhere on the play line dolls.
Playing with the mini dolls within the confines of the ball is tricky, but the ball makes a good backdrop for display, and can even house some of the mini pet furniture. Still, smart phones can act a bit like pacifiers for adults, so perhaps the contrast is not as stark as it seems. Pretty in pink and with totally glam glitter walls, the Cottage Playhouse will be the latest digs for your little one and all their BFFs to kick back and relax.
